I do wonder what would have happened without Maloney in the race, especially in Western NY. But ultimately it wasn't that close in a 3 way race, and Tish absolutely cleaned up in the city. Teachout's strong showing in Manhattan has me hoping she'd one day run for Manhattan DA, although it's still such a bummer that Cy Vance got to run unopposed last year - waiting another 4 years for that opportunity is probably not a good use of her time and energy.

Her loss to John Faso in 2016 is still the one that disappoints me the most because that was definitely the most winnable race she's had (even if Clinton at the top of the ticket probably hurt her).

Anyway, I hope you're not right about her inability to win elections. She's a fantastic person and a much needed voice in the Democratic Party. I don't know what's next for her but I'll be following closely.

angry drunkposting,,, u gotta love it

HRC also recently endorsed Delaware senator Tom Carper, an old ass straight white man who not only admitted to domestic abuse and giving his wife a black eye in the past, also signed a law in 04 as DE governor defining marriage as man/wife, and as recently as like 2013 was one of the very last Dem politicians to hold out on endorsing SSM

oh and his primary opponent, that hrc did NOT endorse? the very progressive queer poc Kerri Harris

It was fun when Bernie said that HRC was part of the establishment wing of Democratic politics and got absolutely murdered for it.

yeah. I read a book called Forcing the Spring: Inside the Fight for Marriage Equality and I had to stop because the author was absolutely deifying Chad Griffin and leaving out so many grassroots activists and actually disparaging a few really key figures (evan wolfson, etc)

at one point in the book, Griffin is called a modern day Rosa Parks

League of Conservation Voters endorsed Carper in his primary even though he supported the Keystone XL pipeline. in Delaware. he's from Delaware. establishment groups are establishment groups.

DCCC went up this week in a few new districts. TX-07, where they made a big reservation, FL-26, CA-48, and interestingly NM-02, which is PVI R+6 but an open seat that had a Democratic representative in the last decade. upshot is starting a poll there.

NRCC went up a lot of places, FL-26, MN-01, MN-02, MN-03, NJ-03, NY-22, PA-01, TX-07, TX-23, VA-10. DCCC also is up in VA-10. so they haven't pulled dollars from Comstock yet. and Jason Miller is also getting some help in MN-02 after all. I think that means Rothfus and Denham are the only people without major help so far, but CLF has a big reservation covering Denham.

Feinstein's handling of the Kavanaugh hearings has me so pissed off had to find the latest poll - taken Aug. 29-Sept 2

i'm unfamiliar with Probolsky Research though and didn't feel like digging in for myself right now

U.S. Senate
37% Feinstein – D
29% de León – D
Unsure 34%
-Intensity of support is greater for Feinstein
-de León captures more Republican, newer and younger voters

also the gov poll results:
44% Newsom – D
39% Cox – R
17% Unsure
-Cox well outperforms his GOP base (fewer than 25% of all California voters)
-Cox captures a similar percentage of the Latino voter as Newsom
-Intensity of support is strong for both candidates
It's dark and you want to go home?
