:D so good

Branford Dead is special. I love hearing him learn some of the songs on the fly for the first time on 3/29/90. He’d reservedly throw out a verse mirroring line for a while and then a few minutes later just be full of perfect ideas.

I haven't listened to this yet (just downloaded, thank you!) but there are a few shows from 1983 I really like. Kind of wish I could have bought this

The long jammy version from Dick's Picks 13, dedicated to Bobby Sands, is the first one that comes to mind.

8/27/72 from Sunshine Daydream is the "studio version" in my mind - no big type II jam but well played and emotional. Donna sounds great on the vocal coda there that they added after Europe 72.

(I also recommend whatever k_uger comes up with, he's an encyclopedia for this stuff as we all know.)

try
6-24-85. Jerry's vocals are a little ragged, but this is an awesome mid 80s version in the middle of a killer 2nd set, at least for 1985 https://archive.org/details/gd85-06-24.sbd.miller.25315.sbeok.shnf/gd85-06-24d2t03.shn
and
5-26-73. Love everything about this show! Maybe my favorite He's Gone outside of the standard Europe 72 version https://archive.org/details/gd73-05-26.sbd.cribbs.17076.sbeok.shnf

my brother ran away from home in high school and I must have listened to every He's Gone I could get my hands on at the time, which was probably some combination of Dicks Picks, Napster and Limewire
The backyard is bringing me down.

I'm on the fence about this tonight as well. I'm traveling for work and conveniently staying next to a super-mall hellscape with a theater. I don't know...May just end up getting ripped and eating a cheeseburger in my hotel room in my underpants instead.

I don't know if any of you Dead bros are also record bros, but Amazon is selling the Anthem of the Sun picture disc for $13. Good deal.

What's the difference between the 68 mix and the 71 mix?

The second set of this is really good, the first set is a dud though, enough that I was wondering why this was a Dave's Pick, but that second set!

The main way I listen to the dead is through the “this date in history” feature on Relisten and MAN 8/10/82 is one of the best recordings I’ve ever heard. MUST listen
