lol

part of what makes that moment is how fucking mad he gets

the contrast between how angry he gets and johnson's very sincere curiosity is just the best.

lots of people often forget that one of the main sparks behind the russian revolution was the heroic organization of women workers who were fed up with the horrible, sexist conditions that they had been forced into.

at this point, we might really be getting the guillotines ready by the end of 2018.

Given how much Dems in Congress suck and the extent to which the House is gerrymandered into predominantly safe seats on both sides, I'm pretty alright with a lot of shitty Dems getting pushed out!

yeah

plus the message of 2018 becomes "democrats are the party that cares about sexual assault" in the districts that are winnable

As I said in the Trump thread, I don't think Dems can "win" on this issue at the expense of Republicans in any meaningful way. Who are they chasing - Clinton's mythical suburban Republicans who voted for Trump anyway? But pushing out the creeps is both the right thing to do and potentially a way to accelerate a generational change in the party that is sorely needed.

yeah i'm not convinced it will be that valuable electorally but it's another tool that could be nice to have, even if it's just one part of a deluge of issues that depresses turnout on the other side

(as an aside i do believe in the "mythical suburban republicans" because my parents are them and both voted for clinton and would probably vote D or abstain if their congressman is particularly nutty [he is], but i don't have any real sense of how many of them actually exist and don't have any reason to believe it's that many)

yeah and this is why so many squishes on the left are upset about franken leaving, they only see it as "he wasn't as bad as trump or moore, they're the ones who should have to resign".

yeah, my parents are also mythical suburban Republicans (who call themselves "independents" lol)

They voted for Clinton and will be voting for Doug Jones. It pretty much does take a Trump/Moore level shitshow to push them to the (D) column, but happily that's all the GOP is now.
