Not sure how anyone can dislike I Want You.

Love the distorted guitar and subtle harmonizing guitar parts with the vocals. Love that they just get in this jam and keep going with it and how it ends abruptly. Besides, after Octopuses Garden, you need a massive tonal shift and this fits the bill (just like how this ends and leads into Here Comes the Sun is great).

right, it's put down with your wife, at your home with nearly no one else as a supporting cast. kinda drives to the heart of what lennon claims he loves about rock e.g.' real feeling', immediacy, and an uninhibited expression while subverting all of the music into all kinds of things he can't abide-- non-linear, domestic, femme and suites kinda shit.

I never really thought about it like this before now but I think there's something to this

Definitely. And the fact that by the end of 1971 Lennon had shit this out into the world

is proof that Paul won.

Best part in anthology is when George, ringo and George Martin all say the white album should have been one LP, and then Paul is like 'fuck off, it's the bloody Beatles white album'
Meanwhile John tries to claim his 70s material is better than the Beatles

I guess what I believe is that the Beatles were fundamentally a great pop band and any attempt to recast them as HARD ROCKERS (eg. saying 'I want you' is the best Beatles song ) is really silly
