astonishing how refreshing this is

throws into high relief the way most Democracts have typically fought Republicans by making vague, general appeals to logic, reason and decency

oh! and respectfully pointing out the hypocrisies of their statements/policies/actions

Got into a Twitter debate with the franken loving gillibrand haters and its more depressing than arguing with maga heads. They were saying that the republicans have no ethics and the dems have too many and i responded that there's no such thing as being too ethical and they didn't like that.

being overly "ethical" in business or politics can cost dearly, considering your staunchest competition is unlikely to be "ethical" in their business/political practices, especially in a crony capitalist society where $$ = free speech

if you're talking about a monk or something, then yeah - there's probably no such thing as being "too ethical." in politics though? that sounds too idealistic.

holy shit, I totally forgot about that. I lived through the 2016 primary and it was pretty grim. The state party is powerful and guaranteed would support a terrible person. This would certainly put a substandard candidate like Harris over the top unless she's near 0 before then. Garcetti seems harmless and chill. Harris would be a goddamn pitbull for all the wrong reasons.

yeah I've been supporting Gillum but it's clear that he's not ready for this campaign, even with some solid financial support behind him. I also think he'll get torn apart for coming from the mythical Tallahassee, where the city gov has been under FBI investigation for some kind of inside dealing-- GOP will paint him as an insider or whatever. he's definitely got the best platform but I care about winning above all.

I think i've finally decided on voting for Gwen Graham after a lot of thought. her rhetoric has been pitch perfect-- end 2 decades of GOP rule and take back Tallahassee, healthcare, healthcare, and education. and she's a woman, which appears to be a huge boost this year. her record in congress doesn't bother me-- she was elected in a very conservative district and she seems to see that times have changed.

I'm hoping she wins and picks Gillum as running mate. King's a lightweight, Levine is the exact kind of Dem we need less of, and I know zero about Jeff Greene besides his very funny anti-Trump ads.

Schmidt should not only be barred from the Democratic party, he should be barred from active participation in civic life forever.

i don't disagree with him. i still think bernie passes on a run.

i'm just a little hesitant to nominate anyone with the least bit of right-wing boogeyman baggage, even if it's just dumb pocahontas shit
