big thief
kendrick lamar

anthony fantano's thoughtful takedown of new fever ray has me rethink its year-end ranking

glad to see i'm not the only one lukewarm on it

there are a few cool sounds (courtesy nidia, etc) but structurally it's... boring?

in addition to kendrick, the best hip hop albums i heard this year were:
tyler, the creator - flower boy
vince staples - big fish theory
young thug - btg
future - hndrxx

21 savage's album was ok but much weaker than savage mode imo (haven't listened to without warning yet)

the Future / Young Thug was fine and all but I thought it was a bit slight compared to their other releases

Without Warning is better than Issa but I’m just a big 21 Savage fan in general
