agree that this should be like III.

Halloween is the perfect holiday movie and doing an anthology franchise of perfect holiday movies is way more compelling than just building some silly mythology about Myers

III is a ridicously fun, weird 80s horror movie and easily the only good Halloween sequel

this strikes me the same way as the friday the 13th reboot, with a supercool trailer that made it look like the series was going to modernized and improved, and then ended up just being real dumb

Halloween II could've been cool but Michael being lauries's brother was a terrible decision that killed a lot of what made him such a perfect horror movie villain

it has some good setpieces but this character decision drags the movie down

my favorite thing about Michael Myers in the original movie is that he's a semi-supernatural manifestation of evil but he still has to creep around in a stolen car

Yeah I don't like that it's using the rob zombie Michael Myers model. Maybe it'll be cool tho. With dgg and mcbride you'd think it would have some genre bending humor going on but the trailer makes it looks like it's played straight. I wonder if that's a bait and switch. Just seems like this franchise is beat to death at this point. They got good people to try to resuscitate it tho. Is say I'm intrigued but not excited.

I like Laurie Strode taking over the Dr. Loomis archetype. Things like a teen audience surrogate who’s the granddaughter of Laurie is p chringy, but everything else seems p good. Love that opening shot. Kinda like some of the callbacks.
