i like COWYS II quite a bit, especially "16 bars," "life is beautiful," and "fingers"
really hated when X popped up at the end on "falling down"

also "white girl" has this hilariously dumb lyric
She don't love me, she just love how I feel
I'ma fuck her till I know that she real
I don't love her but I love how I feel
When I fuck her and she make me a meal (For real)

I really like this one a lot. Album ends with Fingers as far as I'm concerned.
The backyard is bringing me down.
And the front one is freaking me out.

yeah so the good thing if you like that song is that it's actually a makkonen collab that makkonen shittily sold out as a biggie/pac post-humous collab

it's right here, and it really is a lot better, i still have the same problem with cowsy2 and i listened to it all day cause i was sick in bed, it just lacks the raw emotion (or whatever) that makes his music stand out so much

that version is better. the one on the cmowys 2 release sounds like the worst chester bennington ballad ever.

im a little mixed on this album. it revealed makonnen is a gross opportunist and a lot of the songs feel kind of sterile. that said, i love "leanin", "cryalone" and "fingers"

ye, that's one of my fav songs, its just this 17 year old kid realizing what the world is all about and they ruined that, i dont even know what to think of this new version, sounds kinda preachy, and the music doesnt fit at all

woah this is so different. did they build the new version off his vocals only or something?

I always like whatever version of the song I hear first better. I still haven't listened to COWYS vol. 2 yet... I need to get on this. You guys are bumming me out that it may not be that great, though. But I really loved vol. 1 so I think I'll like it no matter what

it’s pretty difficult to enjoy rn in a pure way but i think once the “processing cowys2” has passed a few tracks will hold up, and i m sorry if you say you think the original “life is beautiful” is better i don’t trust/believe you. peep had natural melody when he recorded it but didn’t have the technical skills/resources to have it actually match the beat. it was just an instrumental he downloaded and sounds that’s way

I talked to both producers about the new song, but the story won’t come out for unrelated reasons. liza gave approval to smoke and george to use any vocals were on peep’s computer when he died. george has the job of cataloging all the stems, and he had never heard the original but loved the words. I don’t think he ever heard the original before making the beat. it was mostly him as opposed to smoke

all except for 2 songs on cowys 2 are original collaborations between smokeasac and peep, and he just re-recorded guitars and other production elements as was always intended. they come from the same sessions as the first album, and the plan was always to release them as part 2
