The stabbing is revolting. I live five mins away from MacArthur and take the train in everyday to work. It's always crawling with cops and nobody could find this guy? Nobody could have prevented this? Just disgusting...
And I feel like this year is really about, just the year of realizing stuff.

i can't really explain what is is here other than just a lack of any real character or public life and a desperate inferiority complex coupled with smug complacency.

I was taught to despise hella, but fully embraced it around high school. I said things like ‘chundled’(wrecked,) ‘bloopy’(instead of molar,) and a whole lot of ‘savage.’

I was definitely taught not to say hella while growing up in Santa Cruz, and I still can't bring myself to say it even though I've lived in San Jose for 8 years now. I also have no idea what you mean by bagel
Smooth lever mechanism and large press chamber EMPOWER the AVERAGE AMERICAN with minimal grip strength, lessening the food preparation time so that you can FOCUS on creating dishes on par with professional chefs.

https://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/roo/d/ ... 09105.html

We are putting out a call for a new landmate to join our 4 bedroom community home.

When: One room available starting Oct. 1st.

Where: El Cerrito, perched adjacent to the Hillside Natural Area. Close to El Cerrito Del Norte BART (5 min drive, 5 min bike downhill, 10-15 bike from, 20 min walk either way).

Cost: $980 for 14 x 12.5 (175 sq ft), hardwood floors, huge closet, N and E facing windows, great natural light, beautiful hillside view

Accessibility: Unfortunately not wheelchair accessible. Two entrances: 5 steps or 15 steps. Home is atop long, steep driveway. Scent sensitive, no chemical cleaners please.

About our home:
Our 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom house is a well-maintained b-e-a-uuuuty, with wood floors, tons of windows, lots of natural light, and a gorgeous fireplace. There is a large bayview balcony, tons of land, and a really sweet, reasonable, attentive, and honorable landlady. The view from the porch and all of the SW west facing windows is a panoramic view of the bay. This includes the view from the kitchen sink. It makes doing dishes pretty sweet. Our house is one of 3 units on the property. All the other units are occupied by our friends. Think village life.

The upsides:
Sweet wraparound porch with epic bay view and seating area, perfect for birdwatching and watching the fog roll in on the Golden Gate Bridge.

Gorgeous panoramic bay views and giant windows facing out into the bay and to the beautiful hillside behind us.

Respectful and responsive landladies (two sisters who bought the place a year ago)

Combined half-acre of land with huge potential for gardening/permaculture

Currently negotiating a shared chicken coop arrangement with neighbors

90-acre Hillside Natural Area trails out the back door

8 min drive (40 min walk) to Wildcat Canyon

El Cerrito Del Norte BART: 20 min walk, 5 min bike ride (downhill...)

On hill parking

Lots of wildlife hawks, owls, foxes, deer, jays, crickets...it's critter town

The downsides:
Poor sound insulation in main house (our unit + in-law unit)

Steep hill if you're on foot or bicycle!

Our Vision for our Home:
Campfire singing. Communal food-sharing/cooking. Storytelling. Tending the land. Earth-centered lifestyle. Sacred spots to sit and be. Sitting around the woodstove for late-night chats. Justice-oriented (engagement in feminist, anti-racist work).

We want our home to be a community hub and also a sanctuary (we strive for healthy balance between the two). We host storytelling gatherings. We host musical potlucks. We also can be pretty contented to chillin with each other, since we got a good crew up here already. We all do work that is emotionally challenging and we're good at holding each other while we cry it out sometimes.

We share a culture of mutual support and community care --always aiming to find the balance of supporting one other through presence and hanging out socially (on the one hand) and through respecting space and privacy (on the other hand). We keep a tidy and ordered but not perfectly spotless home--lived-in, living, breathing space.

We're looking for housemates that want to be part of cultivating the land, who are collaborative and playful, who are down to attend monthly house meetings and excited to build a cooperative community, down to co-create a healthy culture of conflict resolution. People who are musical or music-loving, experienced with community or collective living, excited about living next door to a 7-month old human, folks who are spiritually engaged and supportive of others' practices (happy to be more specific...we're all our own shades of spiritually-oriented people), body-positive orientation (sometimes we're naked, sometimes sex makes people shout a little bit).

About the Humans:
Teddy: really into birds, works in prison chaplaincy and end-of-life care, sings ditties, zen student, bell hooks quotes scribbled everywhere, fox-like--enjoys putting his nose in grass and
dirt

William: 29 yr old open hearted human working 8:30-5 as a hospice social worker. Jazzy drummer playing in band Open Sorcerer. amazing cook, who loves to feed people and make big beautiful meals. Libra, sweet-face.

Molly: 31 years old. Big- hearted empath and natural nurturer. teaches emotional intelligence to elementary school kids. approaches life with a social justice lens. Poet and songstress. Aries. Very witchy.

Darion: sweet hearted man who does mentorship work with youth. Spends much time in room, but when he's out, watch out: sincere sweetness pervades. He is leaving Dec 1st.

Other people in other property units...

Mindy:downstairs is the 'in law' unit, lives the greatest person who ever left Tennessee, our dear friend Mindy. Mindy has us down for campfires and crafting projects.

Next door in the cottage:

Sara: 30 years old, laughs a lot, works with kids, into revolutionary parenting, bilingual, writer at heart, recently became a mother, currently reading Assata Shakur's autobiography

Christopher: 30, Virgo. Scorpio moon. Carpenter, activist, dedicated father. Works with kids, into community building, cooking, and late night philosophy over drinks. Avid nature enthusiast. Fuck capitalism, fuck the patriarchy.

Sal: 6 months old, recently learned how to stand, enjoys long train rides, loves visits from friends, has lots of energy, generally a happy bean, was born in the bathroom of the cottage

Thanks for READING THESE WORDS!

Interviews:we'll be doing an initial round of interviews Sept 12-20th

I can't imagine a less desirable roommate situation.

I prefer to smash the capitalist patriarchy from within the friendly confines of its bosom, thankyouverymuch

(interviews are fine and reasonable unless you are doing "an initial round of interviews" in a tight housing market and then they are gross as fuck for all iinvolved, honestly)

Sharing the very good and nice East Bay voter guide some friends of mine made.
Helpful if you want to vote for the most woke treasurer or whatever down ballot stuff you can't find any info for.
