Jesus christ you have to be kidding me.
Playing music loud is basically Skrillex’s entire job, but it got him into some trouble last night, at least for a little while. Billboard reports that police in Hollywood pulled Sonny Moore over and briefly handcuffed him. And on Twitter, Skrillex says that they’d pulled him over for playing music loud and then handcuffed him for not having proper ID. They released him soon after.
Because it was Hollywood, someone caught the handcuffing on camera and then basically heckled the police while they were doing it. They also, judging by the video, proceeded to play Skrillex’s music while he was in the back of the police SUV, as if that was going to help anything. Here, look:
And in his explanatory Tweets, Skrillex pointed out that he was listening to his own music and that his demos are fire emoji. He also tweeted at Elon Musk to point out that his Tesla has a really good sound system.
If someone asked me to make up a news story about Skrillex, it probably would’ve been exactly this, word for word.
