American Gods (the show, not the book, asshole)

Let's talk Aguachile Alley

It's really amazing how closely this is following the book.

Of course, right as I say that they make their first major diversion from the source material. Still a fantastic episode, though.

Learning more about laura is a big improvement on the book material. Can't remember really but all the casino stuff and shadow being a thief is new right?

Yeah, I liked this.

In general, I think the episodes have been getting progressively better. Excited to see how good it'll get.

About to finish listening to the Audiobook (also fantastic). Will be very interesting to see how they handle some of the later stuff in the book. I think most of it will play very well.

this is the best show

I was skeptical of this past ep until I remember Laura gets resurrected and then I realized this was a pretty great ep. (I don't remember the book in great detail)

Also I love seeing all my old pals from Hannibal pop in to visit
The answer is simple: artisanship.

Doesn't really bother me - I suspect the reason is they needed more expo for TV

That's probably the reason, but I think that Shadow being a guy who fucked up once and started learning coin tricks in prison as a way to cope is important for his character. Not a small-time crook.

I had started the book then got sidetracked -- is Shadow this much of a drip in the book? From what I did read, he seemed mostly as a stand-in for the reader, but he's even more of a sleepwalker in the show. Turning Laura into the protagonist was a smart move.-- Emily Browning is good.

The rest of the show is pretty entertaining, but that just makes me resent Shadow more.
