Brainiac was awesome. I saw them at the Metro in 95 opening for Sunny Day Real Estate and Shudder To Think and I will never stop posting about t bc it changed me life
The answer is simple: artisanship.

Oh just that I was working at Brainiac's label and we got the sad news as a group. It was done that way because soon people would be calling with questions, etc.

Dude was so vital on stage and young, it was such a bummer to get the news. And most of us were around his age so death had seemed so remote.

Yep.

And contrary to that article i don't remember much talk about them preparing to jump ship... often bands would let majors wine and dine them... pretty sure with just a single, lp and ep already released on t&g the next lp would have been due for us. Not a lot of one-album deals were made.

Brainiac good. Wish I could have seen them.

Closest I got was Enon at the Middle East upstairs. Schmersal still brought it.

One of the best bands to ever do it. Got to see them in early '97 shortly before Tim's death and it remains one of the greatest shows I've ever witnessed.

Bumping the thread because the doc is finished, a list of screenings can be found at https://brainiacfilm.com/screenings/
