Make sure to turn on global illumination and ambient occlusion in render settings if you’re using a sky or luminant objects to light the scene.

Greyscalegorilla’s hdri studio rig and their light kit pro are both solid as an introduction to lighting.

light kit pro are lumanant planes set up as light boxes using in-scene geometry. Basically think of light kit pro as actual physical lighting objects in the scene whereas hdri studio is a bunch of hi res images of a real places that are applied as an invisible-to-the-camera spherical sky that lights and influences reflections and is tied to a set of easy to use controls. Essentially you just drop an object in and it’s lit well and has a floor to sit on with a just couple adjustments needed usually

I worked for a trailer production house that had Hail Caesar and Maps To The Stars come through, and those were my designs, yes. The HC one came pretty close to being the one they used before they went with a very gross 3D effect in the actual trailer.

Hey babies, getting back into a little desktop publishing now that I have a new PC coming around. What's the best way to get Illustrator/PS/Indesign CS6? If anyone wants to point me in the right direction, I'd be much obliged.

Also, any other software recommendations if most of what I'll be doing is book/pamphlet design.

what do people wear to interviews?

i remember people coming in with a suit and tie and everyone making fun of them.
my last interview my boss made fun of me for being too casual, but I got the job.

maybe the moral of the story is that it doesn't matter.

I go with business casual but extra sharp

but it depends on the company

if they have an instagram with office photos you can scope out their dress code

try to figure out what your peers there wear on an average day and look like a really nice version of that, basically. Usually this means a nice button up, good jeans, good shoes/boots but not blazers and ties

small thing, if you are using standard render, change your antialiasing from geometry to best so your edges dont get jaggy.
modelling and cloth are both v strong in c4d, even in c4d. you may be able to do it all in c4d if you are so inclined.

octane is great you will enjoy it esp for this kind of work.
