This thread feels like taking the egg to the convenience store on 90210. One of my favorite concerts I've ever seen was Joanna Newsome opening for Bjork at the Shoreline Ampitheater.

This isn’t far off from where I’m at. Except listening to Lopatin’s soundtrack for Good Time on my night walk home made me feel things, too.
Feel like fans of Newsome would dig Bjork’s new album.
Have One On Me is my favorite album of the last ten years. I have to be careful about when I put it on, because once it starts I can't do anything else.
my sister and i were just talking about how singable joanna newsom's song are, however grandiose the song structures or lyrics can be. they are so fun to sing around the house and we both shared the experience of memorizing even the 11 minutes long songs by accident just through repetition. i actually have a tough time learning lyrics so it's amazing to me i've retained a lot of hers.
also junebug how come this thread still has an e in her name lol
the reaction i have to newsoms stuff really evokes john muir writing about the sublime. i also identify it really strongly with william morris and romantic / pastoral revolutionary socialism in way thats difficult to articulate right now
