pretty sure i made a thread at one point about people "pluralizing" the names of places (not really pluralizing, more like making it sound possessive, like "Tesco's") always felt like a small town thing to me

People probably say Tesco's because there are a lot of other British supermarkets with an S at the end of their names - Sainsbury's, Marks and Spencers, Morrisons - and we are creatures of habit. Hope this helps.

Marks and Spencers is probably the "best" but most expensive, then Sainsbury's, then Tesco, then Morrisons. Really though, who cares?

sort of?
i just associate this with the feeble minded small town folk that i grew up with (and live among, to this day) (and am)
not the posh, educated denizens of the United Kingdom with their fancy words and stiff upper lips
