Sometimes people break their leg. In his case, he broke his shot. Similar recovery time, seems like?

I'm not sure why I'm trolling but it's a fun topic to do so on. While having offered wildly hot dumb takes, I'm not normally a troll. But Fultz, holy shit.

i like to alternate universe pretend that whatever the spurs lineup is is actually the whole spurs squad, like my starting guards are teenagers and theres lamarcus and some old foreign guys and some young foreign guys and that's the team

in that universe the spurs are killing

pretty sure you can't put your arm out sideways after a jumper and fall down when it's touched and it's a foul but whatever

the fultz stuff is depressing. imagining being so insanely gifted at something and then the second you turn pro something snaps and you lose all cognition for how to play the game.

but hey, trader danny does it again, lol.

I have run the site since 2011 when we published our first new post about David Tennant reading Shakespeare’s 12 Sonnet. And in the seven years since it was founded, there have been over 9000 news articles, 700 background pages and 8000 photos about David Tennant’s work.

I think he'll be ok. So much of what made him promising was footwork/ball handling based. They've already shown they're willing to be patient with these guys. He'll be good when he's ready (I hope!).

One thing that I find truly interesting is just how resolute the 6ers, Lakers and Cdltcs were with their top 3 picks and how set in stone every thing was once Bos traded down. Why were the Lakers so sold on Ball and the 6ers with Fultz when its now so clear that Tatum was a homerun.

I just dont know why the Celtics saw what the other two didnt and Im puzzled that the Lakers were set on ball so earlym also surprised the 6ers seemingly never thought twice about the Cs growing cold on Fultz. It's fascinating.

I admittedly stopped keeping up with every breathless clip of Fultz practicing or taking free throws, or the shots of him in his suit on the bench, but the thing that makes it sad to me is that he genuinely looks upset about it all. As he should! But the gnawing idea that he's suffering from a career-ruining case of the yips is really demoralising, and I hope it doesn't turn out to be the case.

I don't feel too bad because

a) he's a multi-millionaire at 19

b) he will be given every possible chance to succeed. Even if he stumbles over and over. Even if the Sixers cut bait. As long as every aspect of his game isn't broken, people will keep giving him chances. I guess that could be a special sort of Hell, if he can just never make it work but that's a heck of a lot more than most players, never mind people in general, get.

c) If he never fully gets there, he can still have a nice life. There was a great podcast about Darko's rebound from being a high profile bust. He still has tons of money and stuff and has started a nice life for himself. There's life outside of basketball. Plan A doesn't always work out.

d) he'll probably, at the very least, turn out to be a playable NBA player and the chances he becomes a multiple time All Star are not only not zero, they're probably still no lower than 10% (depending on your optimism, this might be low but even pessimistically, I can't say I can go any lower than that)

Just kinda think the nature of the way stuff gets reported now makes this seem like a bigger deal than it is. He was the #1 prospect and the #1 overall pick at like 6'4, he's ridiculously skilled and that just doesn't disappear.

Markelle Fultz was really fucking good in college guys, this stinks

like just look at the pull-up 3 at 1:10 here - he had a pretty shooting stroke:
