Wealth redistribution and passing legislation that caps executive salary and stock options relative to the average salary of the company's employees seems like a great starting point!

This has been a pretty crazy page. What I have to add is just a summary from what I heard on the radio today, so not sure if it will pack the same punch. Perhaps it doesn't even belong in this thread.

Anyway, today on the Columbus NPR affiliate they were discussing how recently some local communities have decided to implement domestic violence intervention and rehab programs instead of jailing certain domestic violence offenders. They then cut to an interview with a police officer from some suburb outside of Columbus where they had started one of these programs. The police officer described a recent example of a case in which the program made sense to use. A family; mom, dad, son, and daughter went to a local restaurant and had dinner and some drinks. After dinner they went to the parents house, and were having a conversation which caused the son to become violently angry and he began to thrash about, tearing the house apart. The parents called the police. The police officer then casually mentions that it turns out the son had actually consumed a date rape drug that was intended to be slipped in the sister's drink, which caused him to act violently. He then continues to go on how this program is great for him, since he is not a repeat offender, and this was likely to be a one time occasion. My thought is, "he was drugged unwittingly, and he still has to participate in this program?" It seems absurd to me that someone could be secretly drugged and still have to participate in a program to address domestic violence.

The week before I started someone had a panic attack and was taken out on a stretcher because they had received audio of someone dictating a suicide note. I think there are a ton of fucked up traumatizing data jobs out there we don't hear about because of terrifying NDAs.
