hey Venom thread

this movie is ok.

DEEPLY stupid but the three main actors are good (Jenny slate terrible) and Venom is just a really cool fun guy. and unlike a lot of superhero movies it Isn't shot like a tv show or a gritty videogame, thank god.

If they could lose most of the exposition/not Tom Hardy scenes and add back the 30 minutes of mad puppeteering it'd be a 7/10.

The middle (when they leaned into the comedy) was a lot of fun. I feel like the action sequences were actually the worst part. Tom Hardy was a joy to watch. 3 stars out of 5.

agree whole heartedly with the bolded. tom hardy and his insanity accent are great in this if the movie itself were just a modicum more self aware this would be a stone cold classic. but i actually felt like the venom action was good too i mean eXtREmE cool looking goo violence is what we paid for right and this delivered in that respect as well. michelle williams as always is a gift even in a throwaway role like this. the ending left me stoked brah for the future of the sony venom universe. comparisons to ghost rider movie were on point in the best way not that this movie isn’t also just as utterly moronic and bloated with boring ass exposition.

Beautiful film. Great cast, gorgeous cinematography. Genuinely funny with some well done physical comedy and acting in a dual role from Hardy.

Disclosure: I did consume an edible while walking into the theater.
