Picked it up last Tuesday but it hit really hard over the weekend. Had a fever on Sunday night that I thought was going to kill me, frozen extremities and yet by body was overheating so much that I dropped 4-5kg with sweat and no appetite.
Monday was OK, thought I was getting better but had to see the doctor to get a certificate for work, he said you ain't done yet boy.
Here I am on Tuesday, a week later, completely fucked.
I got it on new years and it got better for a weekend and then developed into bronchitis and I'm still sick. Antibiotics are working but I'm still coughing my guts out at night. Really great.
i was vomiting and pissing out my ass last week (at the same time). fever, chills, sweating. i knew it was bad when i didn't want to smoke cigarettes or drink booze.
i'm better now. stay strong y'all it will pass. i basically stayed in bed for 72 hours straight. seemed to work

wtf why because they will tell her bedrest and fluids because it's a virus?
I had flu for the first time last year when it was Australia's winter fad
it sucked
waking up with prune finger yellow stained cancer hands, soaking through my clothes with sweat, and piss the colour of tea despite living on gatorade.. kinda scared the shit out of me as someone who has never had a serious illness beyond occasional food poisoning or nasty cold
on the up side I managed to get my waistline down a notch in five days and it's sorta stayed off since I remember on day 3 or so I thought I was getting my appetite back so ordered fifty bucks worth of pizza and garlic bread delivery but when I ate it my tongue was broken so all I was getting was bitter flavours and it tasted like burned onion
oh yeah and the doctor did tell me bedrest and fluids but I'm glad I went
the worst part was the way my ribs felt broken every time I coughed for a month afterwards because of all the chest muscle strain
I'm not sharing these details for sympathy, I just found it sorta interesting the different ways my body was failing me
the other thing I found interesting from a sneaky virus evolution point of view was the way it started as cold symptoms, which sorta receded after a week so I felt quite confident about going to work (took maybe one day off in the middle) and on the mend, and then wham that weekend the proper flu kicked in, presumably after I'd spread flu virus everywhere because I felt OK
My listening experience in balanced mode reveals the great depth of EARTH
I might have the flu or something like it, but my symptoms are nowhere near as bad as the rest of the people in this thread, so it may just be a bad cold. I'm mostly exhausted and have been running very cold the last day or so, with occasional sweat-outs when I'm in bed.
flu anti vaxxers drive me nuts. i have a friend who "doesn't like needles" so he won't get it. i've gotten it every year since 2003, when the flu destroyed me for a week. still get sick once in a while but it's way more mild and manageable.
I am going to buy more books about elderly dogs in the future. Thank you.
i've been waking up every night, sometimes multiple times, completely drenched in sweat. (only the last two nights have i avoided this with a fan pointed at me and a sheet for a blanket)
one afternoon at work last week i felt extremely cold and was getting chills and no one else was cold or uncomfortable at the office. it was finally over this weekend that it all bubbled over and i started producing mucous-y coughs. took the day off work yesterday and am taking one more today bc i'm still coughing. feel a little less cloudy in the head and was briefly thinking about giving work a go but one more day to myself will probably go a long way
The first time I got one at the office, the sleeves of my shirt wouldn't roll up high enough so I had to undress from the waist up in the little cubicle they were using and then quickly put everything back on as the next person in line was coming in. That was awkward enough that I was too lazy to get one for a few years. I'm sorry, world, this is my confession.

I once had to wait in line while ahead of me a woman who was wearing long sleeves threw a fit because they wouldn't accept her offer to just stick the needle somewhere else.
I don't have the flu buddy but I hope you feel better soon. The last time I got the flu, I went to one of those Care Now pop up emergency rooms and they gave me a steroid shot that really worked wonders. I for sure paid money for it though.
ive had a bunch of flu(s) in my time, like half a dozen probabaly (half as a kid or teen), but only two in the last ten years but the last one was 3 years ago and man it gave me ptsd it was do bad. I had fever for three days straight and it got on the threshold where they say to get yourself to an hospital.
I was alone so it doesn't help, i remember i had to get gatorade to rehydrate and my normal go to place for anything like that is the drugstore which is 3 mins away by foot but that was still beyond my capacity so i went to the corner convenience store a minute away instead. Like those two minutes didn't seem feasible...
I must insist on being a pessimist, I'm a loner in a catastrophic mind
