I don't think HIPAA says anything about this, but it doesn't matter when your straight up email the info to a third party lol

nice, then it seems that i have found a loophole

i thought nathan was saying this in a way that would prompt an "oh no" rather than a "nice"

Yes I'm saying that the email tech details are irrelevant when you just do the violation directly

like the secretaries shouting at each other across the office about mrs. so-and-so's polyps and mr. whats-his-face's heart medicine and people's fucking files just laying around open on the desk where you go to get your 50 pages of redundant paperwork to fill out so they can proudly display it to the next person

"Dear LB,

How do you feel about anarchism?

Sent from my iPad"

because you might deserve that much

You're going to have to go undercover on the so called Deep Web to retrieve the info that has already been sold to a black market shadow broker known as The Suffragette

This is in fact a nightmare scenario but when I worked in hospital administration these types of emails were pretty par for the course. Entire departments of people not involved in any way shape or form with revenue cycle getting cc'd left and right.

But as long as you put a disclaimer that's some variation of the legally binding "This email may contain privileged or confidential information" in your signature you're totally fine, or so I've been led to believe by the many people who have been trusted with extremely sensitive patient information.

that reminds me... i never updated this thread with Nancy's response to my initial question.

Nancy, the data thief wrote:Hmmm. I think the idea behind socialism is pretty awesome. I love the idea of everyone being able to contribute what they are able. If everyone is willing to work as hard as they are able, things would go really well. Everyone should in theory work together and take care of each other. I LOVE that. I think the biggest problem, and what the general population fears is that the people won’t contribute, or want others to do it for them. Maybe it be awesome to incorporate socialism, kind of like Norway and Denmark (I think?) That could be really good. I defiantly think the way things are going now is not good. Change is defiantly needed. As for the followup question…I’m not such I understand. Do I think Bernie would have won if we were a socialist nation? Or would he have a better chance? Well…yes.
