Nite69 you are not using the ± correctly. Also, what was it about budakhan mindphone you disliked so much?

ceephax's World Dissolver EP is god tier. Probery's Poker and Legend of Phaxalot alone are just impossibly masterful

Thank you nite69. the MAEP team are pleased with your correct application of the rating system. we are a bit surprised about your rather bold usage of superscript but respect your decisiveness. sometimes an impulsive approach is the way to go

MAEP scores need to take previous and projected performance into account and the amber tag can be hard to shake once it has been applied. While a good album, it can't move into green unless there is evidence of a true return to form. Keep in mind that Go Plastic followed 3 EPs of diminishing quality (Budakhan, maximum priest and selection 16) and was a rehash of his mid 90s sound. So it was good but not good enough to break back into green because doubt about Squarepusher were still valid. Future releases would still need to be approached with caution. These doubts were later justified by the disappointing Do You Know Squarepusher? Ultravisitor was a true amalgamation of his previous sounds and from that something new was created. It was a true return to form so could be awarded a green label. Actually, if a rise in performance 2 albums earlier in Go Plastic hadn't occured, perhaps it wouldn't have been eligible for green. At the time of release, it seemed fair to predict that future squarepusher releases could be anticipated and trusted. Unfortunately Mr Jenkinson didn't capitalise on this.

If taken as a standalone album, i'd rank Go Plastic higher than Budakhan Mindphone and it'd come close to Burningn'n Tree
