If you're going up a building in St. Paul, keep going.

Today we had lunch in a local (Northern Irish) pub, the owners are a couple in their late 70s. We told them about this raccoon, they wanted to see the twitter pics on my phone as well, and when they had seen this happy ending on my phone, they invited us to come back for dinner tonight, for free. "That's on the raccoon, worth it."

A couple of years ago there was this red squirrel where my parents live that covered the entire leeward part of their roof with pinecones. It would just collect pinecones all day and put them up there. Something about the particular way that roof geometry looked to that thing just set off its "I'm supposed to store a bunch of stuff here" brain module, until there were like a skillion pinecones there and eventually my dad went up there and shoveled them all off. I wonder if something like that was going on here, with the key difference being that the raccoon is the greatest hero humanity has ever witnessed.

I bet this raccoon is really pissed that humans feel the need to build things that are so goddam stupidly high.

Happy that the little guy made it.

Was thinking last night that aside from falling, it could have died from exhaustion on a ledge, giving st pauls office workers a first hand view on the eating habits of crows.

the problem is if they left all kinds of good treats on top o the building, now its gonna go to other raccoons and tell them it's really worth the trouble to climb those skyscrapers for food as long as you made sure to eat and drink plenty first. Plus you get a free ride down.

The so-called #mprraccoon that held the world rapt as it scaled a downtown St. Paul skyscraper has been safely trapped and will be released at an undisclosed location.

they probably figured out he DOES have rabies and are just gonna put it down but don't want to tell anyone that.

Raccoon intrepidly climbing a skyscraper for two days only to be put down is not a good story.

The creature just went mad and thought that was the greatest tree of all time to hide in and couldn't dislodge the notion.
