I'm not going to make the requisite getting into irony parody thread but i want to let it known i, like everyone else, thought of it. someone will probably make it and i'll make fun of them for being so predictable.

I've never ironed anything except i think for some of gf's doll clothes (that she had made) at some point upon her request.

Actually i'm pretty sure my mom made me iron things when i was a kid to show me how to do it.

Little did my mom know i would never own a shirt or a pair of dress pants.

It's good she had that much faith in me though.

If I'm in a city for more than 3 weeks I'll pull out all of my clothing from my suitcase and trunk and iron the fuck out of it while listening to a podcast or watching tv and drinking wine. It's a very necessary night. I have always hated ironing but I've grown to love iron night.

because on vacation i am not in a hurry like i am weekday mornings where i get out the steamer and just get a shirt 90% of the way there in one minute

this is about getting a shirt 100% of the way there in however long it takes because ironing your shirt is the only thing you need to do for the next hour

i can't draw or hold a steady hand, if i consistently ironed clothes, everything i wore would just have asymmetric burn marks

i'm honestly surprised that some folks who used to dislike ironing got down with it, mainly because I assume that being able to iron at all is a magic power

Just finished ironing. Roommate started making popcorn midst iron stroke and all the lights went off. It was just a breaker but it was weird. Also she doesn't make popcorn right.

No matter how long or carefully I iron something, there is some shitty wrinkly spot somewhere, and eventually I get to a point where I flip it over and I've ironed a crease into the reverse side, and I try to fix it and then I flip it and I've ironed a new crease into the reverse side and that routine can go as long as it takes to get me to a place where I wrap the iron cord around my neck and toss it out the window, hoping it will pull me to my sweet end.

I don't enjoy ironing, but it's also pretty painless to plow through a bunch of shirts while watching sports or a TV show that doesn't demand careful attention. It's better than looking at my phone during every second of downtime, frankly. Getting a big, sturdy ironing board and a nice iron helps a lot. I have about 15 dress shirts in my rotation and usually do them all in one or two sessions.

Steaming is fine for casual shirts and other clothes, but it doesn't get a dress shirt smooth enough. I'm also just bad at it and will always get out the iron if it's not an emergency.

Ironing pants is terrible, but I don't have many that need it because all of my work pants are wool.
