This guy turned into a right-wing crank, but goddamn he could write some wonderful sentences.

I like Augie March a lot, never read Herzog

the end of Augie March is kind of weak but there’s a lot of stuff stuck in my head from that book

I used to be and still am somewhat bad about returning books to the library, I never wanted to return them because I was always optimistic that I’d read them before going back; and many times instead of reading them I just wouldn’t bring them back,

it seems weird that herzog has more ratings than augie march on goodreads (though not by a lot)

I think I enjoyed Henderson the Rain King more than the others but I haven't read Humboldt's Gift

I really like that short story Something to Remember Me By

sad to hear he was right wing

I can't imagine getting even that far had I attempted Herzog in highschool. I like them both, but preferred Augie because of the wider range of characters. The philosophical lectures in Herzog were too hit or miss.
