I mean, she's nude in most of the animated sequences iirc but I thought that was part of the sort of high fantasy/dnd/mystic metal vibe of the movie. Like the painting of mandy's they show at the beginning and fantasy novel covers and whatnot.

the animated sequences are so such an insignificant portion of the film that they had zero effect on me
if anything, I wondered why they were even included, and mostly, why they looked like absolute shit

i liked 'em. they're what red sees when he's on the brink of death, an idealized version of his wife who inspires/scares him back to consciousness (while probably losing a little of his humanity each time)

The animation was absolutely terrible and unnecessary. Looked like animation from An Inconvenient Truth or something. Made zero sense.

Slartisfgh is never mentioned in The Bible, but it is here, during one of the early battles, that Matthew spontaneously became liquid.

Isn’t it scenes from the sci fi book Mandy was reading? She holds up the strange and eternal green stone in the last one

The animation were cut scenes from my Newgrounds flash game, please give it five stars.

dont get me wrong i could have done without them, but i do like those visions and cool on them to not exploit the actress while also nailing the heavy metal animation style of the period

this movie was amazing and the soundtrack was incredible. made me really wish we could have heard the unused johann johannsson score for Blade Runner.

I just got to watch Mandy. It's frustrating because this is a big step up from Beyond The Black Rainbow but god what a slog i dont get why some filmmakers are so against pacing their movies better.
wimbledon, strawberries, bubbles, please protect me. happy midsumma, hope you spend it in your heart, everyone is there. bitch.

finally saw this yesterday. it kinda sucks. like others have mentioned here the animation segments were terrible and the pacing was even worse. but jesus, the kidnapping scene at beginning is some of the worst epileptic seizure inducing shit i've ever seen in a movie. what the hell were they thinking
nic cage and johan johansson's score were the only things that made this okay

I was told not to be on anything harder than weed but
a very light dose of mushrooms seems like it would be good
The UC Berkeley expert I spoke with described your approach to boarding -- posting things without knowing whether they’re true in order to juice engagement -- as “sociopathic.” Do you have a response to that?

i only knew it was a surreal and violent cage flick going in, had no idea about the lsd themes and visuals
i was nexus flipping which kept it from being too disturbing. certainly added an extra layer of chaos and potentially enhanced the psychedelic aspects of the film
