Stranded is the weakest of the four (five if you count the radio rip of woe is me) in my opinion

I'm surprised by how often I listen to and end up enjoying Swimming. A few clunkers and there's nothing terribly urgent or vital about the Kicks, but it's a pretty good effort. I know the guitarist is doing a solo project, but I'm not entirely up on what the entails.

Stranded is quite pleasant, but nothing more.

almost through the first listen, I think early favs are victory, all my great designs (really like this), and stranded. really loving the 2nd half.

not sure why you guys don't dig stranded more. I think it's still one of the best songs on here. woe is me sounds like a single and the melody reminds me of something else that I can't place right now.

Torch Song to While I shovel Snow to Lisbon is a great way to close out the album.

A friend of mine played drums for The French Kicks for like a year or so (maybe just one tour) a few years back. Just sayin!!

apparently this is a transcode? the sound quality is a definite downgrade from the four mp3s that were posted earlier, but its decent

Blond-haired, shorter kid? Went to Berklee? If so, dude's a trip.

...

I'm rewriting Torch Song's backing vocals as I listen to it, otherwise, pretty satisfying listen first time around. Fairly in the style of You & Me, though I'm not immediately convinced the songwriting's as solid. Mayhaps this is just some deep cuts shit.

This record is fab: looser and more fun than the three records that preceded it, and without any of the contrived 'stateliness' I didn't dig so much in "You & Me." Definitely my favorite since their debut, and one of the best records I've heard all year.

I never would have thought the Walkmen were capable of a 'summer album,' either, but here it is, and damn if it isn't a good sound for them.

title track is better than anything on you & me.

I really like juveniles, but it's not as killer an opener as the last 3 have had

"Woe Is Me" kind of sounds like early REM to me.

"Stranded" is just perfect.

the one from the leak thread sounds really tinny (or maybe that's just how the album sounds)

i had to turn it off
