I am pretty much cursed whne it comes to seeing the National live. On 3 occasions I've missed them by a day. Once I had tickets and had to get rid of them. This time we only made it to right before the encore and had to leave because of a tired baby. Last song we heard was England.

like, it all looks nice and I was going to buy the LP anyways, but $50 might be too steep. I just want the 7", don't really even care that it's autographed, though that's cool.

I only listen to about 5 bands and I'm pretty obsessive about having their catalogs, so I'm not sure why I'm hesitating so much.

yeah, LPs are always more expensive at shows in my experience, but it seems like the opposite for t-shirts/cds.

yeah I don't know about the terminal 5 show...everyone says t5 sucks and if I buy the vinyl pack and go to this show, I will have given this band like $150+ this year

I mean, I love them, but that's ludicrous. And it won't be better than the Bell House show in April.

my only T5 experience was the National and they were really bad, but Suckers killed it. decent venue, terrible location. and yeah, for me it'd be $30 ticket plus $100 train trip so I'm gonna pass.

i went to both nights of national and walkmen too. i was right in the middle of the crowd for both shows, and the sound was solid for both. i liked walkmen's performance and setlist more on friday, and national's performance way more on thursday. i thought thursday was incredible. friday's set was good but was just lacking compared to thursday.

can we all agree that "all hands and the cook" is an amazing set closer?

Seeing them on Wednesday with Japandroids opening. Really excited. This will be my 7th or 8th time seeing the band, I think. Set list from a recent Boston show looks like they're even dusting off a few tracks from everyone who pretended to like me is gone.

saw them at governors, going to philly to see them in two weeks, then the t5 show in early december.

really fun show last night. The last few times i've seen them has been at festivals so they've usually just run through most of their latest album, so it was awesome to finally hear some early stuff again. Off the top of my head they played They're winning, Everyone who pretended to like me..., Blizzard of '96, and We've Been Had from the first album. Hadn't heard them do those songs in years.

New stuff sounded good, too, though I wonder if they're not touring with a horn section this time because they didn't do any songs with horns.

But if I don't get a heavy dose of Everyone Who Pretended to Like Me is Gone, well I'll be understandably upset

I dunno how understandable that is considering you're looking for a heavy dose of a 10 year old album. But I mean you're going to get about 4 or 5 songs off of it which isn't too bad considering.
