Thanks for posting this. Doesn't look good.
I'd like a Double Double burger, hold the cheese, hold the pickle, and the ketchup, and the sauce. Lettuce, tomatoes, and onions only please.

I wonder if the military will be as eager to go after the leaker of this info as they were the guy who leaked the helicopter smoking those journalists.

it would be nice if they were as eager to stop sending $1.5 billion a year to our "allies"

So we stop sending money to prop up factions inside Pakistan that are friendly to our interests and that accomplishes what? More aid to the Taliban? So then what, attack Pakistan? Cut & run from Afghanistan? Sometimes politics are messy and there aren't perfect solutions.

basically, no - because as the post that slothropian links to mentions, there is apparently no "smoking gun" to prove anything incontrovertibly. the documents demonstrate that the US military/intelligence community has received plenty of reports of pakistani involvement in the insurgency, but as has been mentioned, we knew that already.

isn't the most surprising part that 92,000 documents leaked? or is that not important?

It's not huge on the level that wikileaks wants it to be, but official recognition of official corruption and collusion (even though great scholars like _chimp have suspected it all along) while we funnel mounds of cash their way without any repercussion is a fairly big deal.

I just got off the phone with B-baby(he calls me C-dawg) and he wants me to ask chimp to attend a private white house dinner so they can trade ideas about what the best possible course of action towards Pakistan is.

The only thing it changes is the next time the administration pledges $500 million to pakistan there will be some pretty tough questions going their way. Before you couldn't really say "I mean cmon, they have to be aiding the Taliban, right?"
