don't track or care but it's probably around 50% carbs, 30% protein and 20% fat

i gain muscle(and fat) pretty easily so i don't really care too much about protein, a gram or two per lb like a lot of lifters do seems nuts to me, doubt i go too much above 100g most days. i weigh 175, no interest in ingesting 350g, I'll just let my kidneys have an easy job

i don't give a fuck about macros and i dont lift but i upped my protein and my recovery from runs is night and day better. hardly sore at all now.

i was getting very, very little most days.

i wrote off macros completely when losing weight because THEY DON'T MATTER FOR THAT in spite of podcast nerds and redditors saying different. protein seems important tho! if you do anything strenuous at least.

My first meal today is at a vegan restaurant, eating a brown rice tempeh bowl with avocado and a raw cheesecake for dessert. I'm already near 130g of carbs, get at me

I'm doing well with the weights and the nutrition. settled into a good interval week sequence. I do a daily 30 minute crossfit-ish group class at noon that is very tough, then 45=60 mins of weights. its so nice having a gym at the office.

I'm eating pretty well. fruit and yogurt in the morning, spinach chicken veggie salad, banana, greek yog, and around 45g of protein shake/milk for lunch after a hard gym session. dinner is always whatever. tonight it was a can of spicy black beans, last night it was huckle's leftover mac&cheese. I do a goodnight casein shake so I don't go to bed hungry

unsolicited advice at the gym is the worst. even if my form really is wildly wrong enough to very suddenly and seriously get hurt, which i know it's not, let me learn that lesson myself, nosy motherfucker

it happens to me to this day

there was this guy who won a transformation contest at a former gym, going from a stick to a guy with a little bit of muscle in 8 months, nothing super impressive but enough to make him feel like he was the bodybuilding guru

i was doing 21s one time and he interrupted me to tell me I wasn't getting full extension. I probably had 5" on his arms at that time and I was infuriated. so when I finished I calmed myself and walked over to tell him about 21s and to not interrupt people while they're lifting

to be fair, mostly everyone including myself is using some machine in less than an optimal way, i usually bite my tongue when i want to help someone just cause I dont wanna come off like I'm superior or have them feel like an idiot. you'd be surprised how many people cant even use a machine like the lat pulldown properly. I do certain technique reps I've seen in vids from people like athleanx that gets me some wtf looks. i'd say it's fine to correct someone if they seem new or are doing things that dont look too safe. I went to a powerlifting gym once and had never used some of the equipment like a safety bar and got corrected, even though i felt like a dumbass for a sec, i appreciated it.
