yeah, i was actually gonna say, this is about as comforting and watery sounding as cindy lee has ever gotten. almost getting person pitch vibes for some reason. (maybe cause i was listening to that last week/and it's put together like a mixtape)

the Elvis cover also feels very much like it shines a light on (hidden) influences on the Women project, itself, especially the s/t.
i think i've said this before itt many pages ago but classic c&w and tight harmony singing was definitely in the mix in the band (via Pat) i would say in terms of how he approached his (then reluctantly-performed) vocals. Cowtown's residual influence seeping in.

Side B is just so satisfying. These don't sound like throw away songs at all... would love for some different versions to appear on the new album.

17:19->end of side A (the climax of the alternate version of "what i need") is just an absolute monster

maybe my fav section of music released this year tbh

I haven't missed a tracklist anywhere for Model Express, have I? It really is a beautiful listen.

Looks like the tapes have been further delayed until 1 September but stay nice to our dear Pat.

Just got my tape in the mail! Came with a thank you letter that says 2 new albums and maybe an EP are coming out! All recorded on 24 tracks. In his words "there's just so much shit".

Here's the tracklisting:

A
1. Kromax (theme from Kromax AKA Real State)
2. A Cold Fog Is Still Descending (KCP Sound Collage)
3. Model Express
4. Who You Want I'll Be
5. What Can I Do
6. What I Need (Alternate Version)

B
1. Dry Dive
2. Burning Candle (C. VanGaalen)
3. Left Hand Path
4. Are You Lonesome Tonight? (A.P. Carter)
5. Don't Let Me Down
6. Diamond Ring
7. Be My Shining Star (Instrumental)

I'll just type out his letter for y'all since I know that was a bit of a tease. His handwriting is a bit hard to read but here's my attempt:

Dear CCQSK Member,

Can't thank you enough for so generously supporting the release of Model Express. Your contribution has gone towards the purchase of a new 24 track recorder. It sounds beautiful and is being used to complete recording and mix the 2 new Cindy Lee albums. Maybe an EP too, there is just so much shit. One thing is for certain, Realistik has reached a new level and the tracks will slay. Depending on labels it may be a wait but before the new year without a doubt. There is a tour of Europe being booked in November. Aside from that just working on this mountain of hits. Not possible w/o you. Thank you.

Much love,

Patrick
