From the Observer:

"Sting was added to WWE's alumni page recently. Hogan has been on that page for years despite being a headliner in TNA, so don't read too much into it other than they've got a DVD featuring him coming out soon. Dixie Carter fully expects for him to re-sign for another year when his current deal is up."

crap

and MB, there have been a bunch of tweets reacting to him being put on the superstars page in the last 1-2 days. all speculation.

i just want it to happen so bad, though. he has like negative 7 good years left, so it's definitely now or never. maybe seeing the reaction this non-story is getting (and if there is a dvd coming up, the reaction to that) could pique his interest.

i don't know anything about salaries in wrestling, but it seems like wwe would have to put up a lot of money to beat whatever offer tna would counter with.

do old guys ever sign one match deals? it's not like tna wouldn't take him right back after that.

I imagine the 'DVD featuring him' is something like a WCW themed release that he's a decent part of, not a solo DVD, but that's just speculation.

Sting keeps signing one year deals with TNA. It's certainly possible WWE could sign him to a short term contract but it's pretty unlikely. If WWE is going to sign a legend they're going to sign them to a 'Legends Contract' that's going to give them rights to use them in video games, action figures and for appearances. I could see them doing that whenever he decides to stop signing with TNA and if they did they'd be crazy not get a match out of him, because if just for one match he'd make a difference. That said - he's unlikely to wrestle Undertaker because Taker is likely only wrestling at Mania and while certain people do seem to think Taker-Sting is a dream match I'm pretty sure WWE doesn't agree, or at least not enough to waste the single match he'll do all year on it.

Plus Sting is ligit shitty in the ring at this point. And Taker is barely holding himself together. It'd be a beyond awful match and they know it. Sting couldn't even have more than a half decent match with Bobby Roode and he's a very good worker.

I could see Sting signing a Legend's contract, coming in, becoming a minor on air character and having a PPV match with some mid-card guy and doing the job. I really can't see them doing more than that. They barely even let Foley do that these days and he's a much bigger star.

That Sting/Foley steel cage match a couple of years ago was one of the most embarrassing things I've ever seen. I can't imagine he's gotten any better since then.

As someone who's a big enough sucker to have considered buying this PPV for Punk-Danielson alone. the WWE has sure done an excellent job removing that desire with these awful shows.

Seriously. As much as I love pro wrestling and as excited as I've been to get back into it this year, every time I invest time into something involving WWE I just get so pissed off because of how bad and poorly-planned it is.

Having said that, No Way Out is going to be held in New Jersey at the end of June and I'm moving to Connecticut at the end of this month so I'll be close-by enough to where I can actually go. I figure a PPV would be the best type of event to go to due to the fact that it's actually possible to see titles change hands. Anybody living in the northeast gonna maybe go to that? WWE board meetup?!

Bryan vs. Punk was fucking terrific. And a disputed finish, so I think we're getting a rematch. Finish was the worst part but it was still damned good.

do any of you guys listen to colt cabana's podcast? i've been listening to it for the last couple of months, i like it for the most part but it's so much fucking better when he's talking to someone with a different perspective who isn't one of his independent circuit buddies, like the ones with rockin randy or roland alexander

Yeah I listen to it whenever I remember it and catch up. It's great except for Colt's accent can be so infuriating sometimes, "pawdcast". The one where he interviewed Domino about the Nigerian wrestling trip is incredible.

Jericho might be done for the near future after, in a show in Brazil, he took the Brazilian flag into the ring and stomped on it, which is a misdemeanor offense in the country and immediately was almost arrested, rushed out of the building, flown out of the country, made to apologize, the WWE apologized to the government and WWE suspended him indefinitely and pulled from all house show line-ups and perhaps from what was likely to be his last appearance at No Way Out against Orton.

Weird story.

how does WWE not even get an intern to google "defacing brazilian flag crime?" before approving that.

There were reports that he did it on his own without their explicit consent.

Finlay was fired a while back for something that wasn't nearly as big a deal but somewhat similar, when he, as an agent, told Miz to interrupt the national anthem at a house show and some military in the audience complained.

tonight's RAW should be fun. i can only imagine the cena/punk match will end in some kind of screwy finish, possibly involving the big slow.
