its painful to watch

It's probably my least favourite episode of season five but I enjoy all these jokes listed.

i don't get hate for lady bouvier's lover and my sister my sitter. i think those are pretty solid episodes.

if you're going to count season 9 it's easy to pick bad episodes.

I always have the strongest urge to skip "Grampa vs. Sexual Inadequacy," despite the b-plot books and reverse-vampires stuff.

I don't think Seasons 2 or 3 need a pass, really.

It's mostly the structure of GvSI that bugs me, I think, in the way the a-plot bounces from the marital problems to road-tripping with Grampa to Homer's superdad act to the Abe-was-a-terrible-father resolution; it ends up feeling like obnoxious later episodes that waste so much time on gags early that by the time they get to the mostly-unrelated point they have to cram it into five minutes of the third act, and the sappy ending doesn't really feel earned.

Wheeljack, when you say 'awful', do you mean awful by Simpsons standards?
Because the one with Bart's girlfriend (which is probably just called Bart's Girlfriend) is still better than 95% of what was/is/ever will be on TV.

Christ, I'm cackling right now.
Even the really simple joke of Bart saying "Don't worry about it." behind the casket makes me laugh every single time.

Worker and Parasite is one of my favorite Simpsons things ever

Hutz: Now Marge, you've come to the right place. By hiring me as your lawyer, you also get this smoking monkey.
[sniff] Better cut down there, Smokey! [laughs]
Marge: Mr. Hutz!
Hutz: [excited] Look - he's taking another puff!
Marge: Mr. Hutz! This was all a misunderstanding; I didn't mean to take anything. [Lionel disappointedly drops the smoking monkey in a drawer full of identical critters]
Hutz: Now don't you worry, Mrs. Simpson, I - uh-oh. We've drawn Judge Snyder.
Marge: Is that bad?
Hutz: Well, he's kind of had it in for me, since I accidently ran over his dog. Actually, replace `accidently' with `repeatedly', and replace `dog' with `son'.

Homerpalooza and the one with Grandpa's sex tonic are brutal. The latter has to be my least-favorite ep I can remember. He's just the worst character. Anything more than a couple lines, barring the WWII ORIGINS ep with Burns (which was fantastic), is too much.

Gabbo is still my favorite Simpsons ep ever. I mean I haven't watched this show, I haven't seen an episode, since Homer Vs. New York City. I am not exaggerating at all. It just stopped doing anything for me, I got older. I can't believe that's the last episode I saw, but I just went through and scanned backwards until I could remember one, and that's the newest one I remember.
