Yeah I don't think I could pick a favorite part of that.

its painful to watch

It's probably my least favourite episode of season five but I enjoy all these jokes listed.

i don't get hate for lady bouvier's lover and my sister my sitter. i think those are pretty solid episodes.

if you're going to count season 9 it's easy to pick bad episodes.

I always have the strongest urge to skip "Grampa vs. Sexual Inadequacy," despite the b-plot books and reverse-vampires stuff.

Season 9 should not be included in this thread, the only episode that isn't awful is The City of New York vs. Homer Simpson.
Season 8 lowlights: My Sister, My Sitter, The Secret War of Lisa Simpson, The Old Man and the Lisa, Simpsoncalifragilisticexpiala(ANNOYED GRUNT)cious, Burns, Baby Burns
Season 7: Perfect, in fact contains some of the best episodes of the series.
Season 6 lowlights: 'Round Springfield, Grampa vs. Sexual Inadequacy
Season 5 lowlights: Lady Bouvier's Lover
Season 4 lowlights: Selma's Choice (?)
Season 3 and 2 get a pass, it's still kind of early.

Lost Our Lisa was included in my Season 9 blanket dismissal.
Yes, being aware of Rodney makes BBB less funny.

I can't hate Homerpalooza, it's too enmeshed in my adolescent music/pop culture memory.

I don't think Seasons 2 or 3 need a pass, really.

It's mostly the structure of GvSI that bugs me, I think, in the way the a-plot bounces from the marital problems to road-tripping with Grampa to Homer's superdad act to the Abe-was-a-terrible-father resolution; it ends up feeling like obnoxious later episodes that waste so much time on gags early that by the time they get to the mostly-unrelated point they have to cram it into five minutes of the third act, and the sappy ending doesn't really feel earned.

It's funny how wrong I am when it comes to the chronology when I check with the episode guide. I always feel like Lisa's Rival was a much earlier episode, and I'm always surprised that stuff like My Sister, My Sitter and The Secret War of Lisa Simpson were mixed in with some pretty good episodes.

I accidentally left My Sister, My Sitter off the list for S8, that should be on there.

Yeah, that's why I had the question mark. Now I also remember that Selma's Choice includes "Hey, Surly only looks out for one guy. Surly." I was too rash in adding it to the list.

Wheeljack, when you say 'awful', do you mean awful by Simpsons standards?
Because the one with Bart's girlfriend (which is probably just called Bart's Girlfriend) is still better than 95% of what was/is/ever will be on TV.

Christ, I'm cackling right now.
Even the really simple joke of Bart saying "Don't worry about it." behind the casket makes me laugh every single time.

Bart's Girlfriend is good.

"Speaking of charming, watching FOX last night, I heard a rather amusing story. This character named Martin was feeling rather... randy, and he was heard to remark --"

Worker and Parasite is one of my favorite Simpsons things ever

edit: Krusty's reaction just seals the deal

The scene where he tries to compete with Gabbo with his own puppet and ends up cracking its head and throwing it into the crowd of screaming kids is the hardest I've laughed ever.

And I know it's not Krusty, but Homer playing Krusty and thrashing the Krustyburglar ("Stop! Stop! He's already dead") omg
