last week's live how was your week with julie klausner was pretty incredible

'kiss from a rose' duet b/w julie klausner and ted leo (before the community episode came out) was so, so good
paul f tompkins as tom sikhs, fred armisen, ted leo as chubby checkers, billy eichner as neil labute, on-stage call in from jackee, IFC roast of miranda july, etc

someone listen to it and tell me if i'm crazy. probably my faovrite episode of a podcast all year.

A bit off topic, but has anyone been able to find TJ Miller's No Reason special online anywhere?

i dunno man like i went from being a totally rabid DLM fan to like, i can barely make it though unless theres a really great guest.

it was about to turn it off until PFT finally brought it a little bit

yeah I unsubscribed... nothing against doug but if you've listened to 10+ DLMs there's no real reason to keep listening. It's the same exact show every week. Plus it seemed like he used to have more energy and now everyone is just going through the motions

I replaced it with MATES

he was pretty mean to my girl megan too

sheeyit

yeah, i'm thinking about getting rid of that DLM from the rotation

improv4humans is fun, glad to hear more improv-y shit out there. maybe i'll pick up todd glass or mates or some other shit. (what's mates an acronym for again? i remember people passionately advocating for this podcast or whatever, but can't remember anything otherwise)

i kinda dig citizen radio, too, but it's not really a comedy show i guess, they just goof around a lot

Todd Glass show is like 2 1/2 hours long every week and is wall-to-wall hilarity. The only thing I wish is that the guests were a little bit better. Even with the D-listers every week (Graham Elwood, Henry Phillips, Kevin Farley, etc) it's still great. Probably my favorite podcast right now.

CBB has been letting me down. Three stinkers in the last 5 weeks. This week's was especially bad - Aukerman let Margaret Cho on for some reason, and she sang horribly and made him incredibly awkward the whole show by trying to act like they were still close (they dated in the 90's, Aukerman basically hates her now from what I've read). He was obviously in an uncomfortable place and it made the whole show drag down. Trying to think of one funny joke from this past week and it's not coming.

DLM - Doug needs to blow this out with 2 90 minute+ episodes a month with quality guests, and nothing else. I think Doug's getting tired of playing the Leonard Maltin game every show he does in the country. The fact that it's so easy for him to remain relevant with just that game/reputation has made him uninspired and lazy. Even listening to his comedy albums from 3-5 years ago compared to now, it's like night and day. On the new album he just rambles for 45 minutes and there are like 3 punchlines. He's losing it, probalby needs to take a long break but I know he can't so I guess he's going to be like Kevin Smith where everyone hates him here soon and he has to market his comedy to 13 year olds exclusively.

Improv4humans is great. Relaxed improv, reminds me of a great CBB episode every week.
