comedy podcast thread

Jesus christ you have to be kidding me.

I love Marc but... yeah I can't listen to all of the intros. I like to catch one here and there just to get an idea of how he's doing and stuff but it's tough to listen to every one

ok i'm a bit of a jesse thorne apologist, and i know you guys are pretty down on him but even still

how in the world did he get Bob Newhart before Maron or Nerdist?

is it just cuz hes actually on the radio and not just a podcast?

great great interview, in any case.

The political ones actually don't bother me (and he doesn't seem to do that very often any more). I don't even mind a good story about whatever in his life. I just get bored with all the "WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?" stuff.

I think he's just reaching for being upset about something because he thinks he's funniest at being neurotic.

Also, I thought it was really nice that Elliott said it was gratifying to have fans of his old work which is cool because I've loved Cabin Boy since I was like 10

Cabin Boy definitely still holds up, but it's pretty 90s.

I'm just now getting into WTF and comedy podcasts in general (Todd Hanson was amazing, and Bourdain was very fun) but I tend to enjoy the intros a whole lot.

Listening to the Jim Gaffigan special now, pretty good so far

Haven't had time to listen to CBB but I saw Jessica St. Clair is on and I always really liked that dumb "womp it up" shit that she does. Am I alone? I figure it's the kind of thing that should be so annoying, but I enjoyed it in the past. Anyway, are they gonna be doing a Thursday show regularly now or was the Will Forte/Leo Allen thing just from the scrapheap?

David Cross ep of WTF really made me wish that Maron would interview Charlie Brooker. I think it'd be a great talk, even if Maron doesn't know who he is. They are kindred spirits.

the two episodes last week was just because his guest for that week's episode backed out at the last minute, I doubt the Thursday shows are a regular thing

it was a pretty good one. Not quite on the same level as the "wompupthejams.com" episode but pretty good. Jessica St Clair is hilarious.

I also listened to the how did this get made with her and Lennon Parham where they watched Pluto Nash. It was pretty good

Has anyone watched BFF yet? It sounds pretty terrible but Jessica and Lennon are both funny and Fred Savage has done some really great stuff over the past decade so I dunno

He announced a podcast! Awesome! I'm only about an hour into that one and was thinking how great of a guest he was. Every time time of heard him recently I've really enjoyed him.

Also, this is from a few Nerdists ago but Matt Mira mentioning that he was almost 500 lbs! :o

Thatnks for recommending that Bobcat episode. I usually don't listen to Nerdist anymore (even though I'm still subscribed), but that was a great episode.
