comedy podcast thread

Jesus christ you have to be kidding me.

scott aukerman is mostly unbearable as a live personality, the only times he makes me laugh are his uncomfortable reactions when gelman or somebody does something shockingly tasteless...

PFT pretty much had me at "It's not that I have a loud voice, it's that I'm yelling all the time!" in that bit, and he just never let up.

i think he contributes best during the games, especially would you rather. like that one with PFT as andrew lloyd webber and zach galifianakis -- FIVE, FOUR, THREE, NOSE, ONE

there's some really hilarious stuff in that Best Show with PFT in the studio from june last year. they start riffing on Sam Kinison at one point which is really good, and at the end of the episode they examine the credits music for the West Wing

this may have been the hardest Ive ever laughed at cdr. I was on the train going to work and couldn't contain myself. I had to turn it off because people were looking at me

edit: specifically pft's webber, not aukerman but he was great during all of that

The tom/paul dynamic is just incredible. The one where they talk about the gathering of the juggalos was one of the best things I've ever heard.

that is a link to the best show where tom and paul talk about the juggalos. paul comes on at about the 50 minute mark. this would be a good starting point for some of you who are looking to get into it.

Maron mentioned a new "Aww, come on, Gallagher!" shirt during the PFT episode, I don't think there's a design for it yet but I want it.

Paul F. Tompkins seems preternaturally dispositioned to be a podcast personality. I don't love his albums of videos of performances. But, his impersonations (esp. Cake Boss) are incredible. Pod F. Tompkast makes me happier than anything I've seen or heard in years.

Nick Kroll is a good example of comedian who's way better at podcasts/radio/etc. than actually doing stand-up

I feel this way about most of the comedians I've been introduced to via CDR
