I don't like romanticizing the danger of motorsport... but good fucking lord the F1 halo is so bad.

Missed this when it happened.

http://www.wbtv.com/story/35541159/woman-left-behind-at-charlotte-motor-speedway-after-coca-cola-600

CONCORD, NC (WBTV) -
Within hours after the celebrations in Victory Lane were over early Monday at the Charlotte Motor Speedway, cleanup crews were already hard at work. But they found something they weren't expecting while cleaning up the infield.

A woman.

Just when you thought you had seen everything people could drive off without - meet Jody Nash.

"They left me, too," she told WBTV. "Hey mom, I'm okay. I'm still here in Turn 2."

Nash said when she woke up, her friends had already driven away from the Speedway. She found a tent that had been left behind, so she joked that at least she had a place to sleep if her friends never came back.

"Will y'all come get me?" she pleaded.

If you are worried about Nash - left behind by her friends - don't be. WBTV later learned that she was able to find a way to get back home safely, thankfully.

NASCAR confiscated Kevin Harvick's spotter's credentials because he dropped his sandwich off the side of the pagoda.

Control your lunch Tim. This is serious.

FE always looks fun whenever I catch it. I get that it's not the point but it'd be cool to see them on F1 tracks

I'm kind of a Pollyanna but I think the next 20 years of Formula E are going to be like the 50s and 60s in F1 in terms of innovations that will work their way into passenger cars soon thereafter.

all aboard the Leclerc hype train

I've been watching most of the F2 races this year (more fun than F1 tbh...) and the dude has been putting on a show

So it's looking more and more likely that we'll see Leclerc in the Sauber next year and not Giovinazzi, yes? With Raikkonen likely being retained and no room at HAAS, it's an inopportune time to be a Ferrari junior.

I was also really surprised to see Latifi driving for Renault this test instead of Rowland. Spur of the moment decision based on recent results? It's a shame Markelov threw away the feature race in Hungary.

Who will RBR be running as their rookie in the test? Gasly yet again?

love Kimi obv but it's kind of a bummer to have him sticking around and preventing a fun driver shake-up primarily because Vettel doesn't perceive him as a threat

I suppose one could say the same about Bottas, but at least Mercedes is committed to letting their drivers race

Hey I've always loved cars but have never really gotten into motorsports. I want to get into Formula 1 tho. Is there a good place to show to watch in order to learn generally what's going on with the sport. Also does anyone know of any bars in NYC to go to watch F1?

Stream the Sky F1 coverage via AceStream and watch the whole hourlong prerace show. That'll catch you up on the politics/intrigue real quick.

F1 is a fine feeder series to cut your teeth on. But when you're ready for the real pinnacle of engineering and on-track gallantry, dirt late models will be waiting.

Old school fuel fire during the Super Late Model race at Evergreen last night. Everybody got out with only minor injuries.

Yeah, we were watching that one live. The part where they are are trying to put it out and then just give up as it keeps reigniting is my favorite.

Youtube stream for the first Indycar race at Gateway in a decade

Sebastian Bourdais is already back in the seat, which is crazy.

ED: Gateway only has a front grandstand but the crowd looks packed.
