yeah i like that one too. i'm glad that more and more artists are reconsidering traditional line work and color application. a tattoo doesn't have feel like a choice between imitation sailor costume or an inkjet printer anymore.

Finally got my other knee done. Been waiting a while because my old guy went out to New Mexico. He kept telling me he’d do it when he got back in town, then flake out. I t’s been like a year and a half and he didn’t even answer my texts last time he was here so I went with someone else who I really like.

I’ve never got tattooed by the hour before but I’m gonna do a couple walk-ins soon and see what I can get done. Wish I had someone in particular to go to but I do trust the shop that did my throat and stuff. Tried another comparable shop nearby (the key from a few pages back) and the guy was chill and talented but actually went outside the lines with some shading and totally fucked up part of the shape of the key. Nobody but me will ever notice so idc about getting it fixed really but that threw me.

Anyone have any tattoo artist recommendations for L.A.?

Maybe even some that might be able to do kind of a woodcut-style like Lisa Orth?

Was able to get a quick one with Matt Kerley yesterday. I've always liked his style. want to get a bigger piece from him soon.

i've been designing this tattoo for myself thats basically several patterns blended into each other around my right forearm. it's gonna be kind of tricky to line everything up and will prob cost me a pretty penny. i don't really have any pattern fill kind of tattoos so i'm not really sure what to expect in terms of pricing. yall think i should do it all at once or piece it together? go to a shop that does hourly or try to get a couple quotes?

This summer I had my Ash Timlin tattoos photographed for a short documentary by Fraser Thomas White about Ash and her work: http://www.fraserthomaswhite.com/

Here are the documentary photos:

I just did two more with Ash yesterday:

2) an arctotherium skellington (extint giant bear)

Still couldn't get an appointment with Mike Adams with my wife trying. Again, no response, so we've moved on. Did manage to get an appointment with Mike Mendes in December though. Off to Toronto we go!
