wonder what kind of change would happen if the next mayor dissolved the TIFFs around the loop and reimbursed it all into the south side, even for say, 1-2 years
it would have to have some massive oversight for corruption tho

The voting bloc that put Rahm in wouldn't go for this.

They want Lincoln Yards

if we have a progressive mayor along with a stronger progressive caucus in city council TIFF reform can be muscled around these turds
also his bloc really isn't that large if the a change candidate is able to turn out more 20s/30s year old voters than usual

is jerry lee lewis still a pedophile? also, how do bands i've never heard of get billed ahead of a relatively big indie band like superchunk, who have never released a bad album?

I wonder if maybe chinatown, being at the confluence of every highway and train line in the city has this constant low rumble that drowns everything out

the sound was coming from the west actually, so there's probably just some weird echo.

I used to get that with Pitchfork fest when i used to live in west town too. i'd listen to the show from my back patio all the way near augusta

I sound insane but I can hear the actual song so clearly and can't remember the title or who produced it.

I'm convinced the sound I'm talking about is based partially on the melody and rhythm of this

Ha I realize how wacky I sound, this is complete nonsense. They're just two sounds my brain has decided should be bundled together and I'm never going to shake it.

And yea autarch mostly I just needed to find that song which has been stuck in my head for years. Turns out it was on controversial ex-boarder rentboy's classic house mix, which if you don't have, you absolutely need to download, I think you'd really dig it.

cross posting from the fuck guns thread -

Franco wrote:https://www.teenvogue.com/story/march-for-our-lives-road-to-change-nationwide-tour

On Monday, June 4, students from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School announced the next phase of the March for Our Lives: a nationwide tour intended to keep the conversation about gun control going. The 75-stop tour will kick off on June 15 in Chicago and go until August. A simultaneous 27-stop tour will happen in the MSD students' home state of Florida. The intentions of both tours are to provide education about commonsense gun regulation and to call out local politicians of either party with NRA connections. Voter registration will be a focus of the initiative as well.

Anybody in Chicago going to this? St. Sabine's at 78th & Throop. I plan on meeting some IL-indivisible there to register students, if anyone else is a volunteer registrar and has the time it'd be cool to team up.
