putting alot of pressure on the reader now with dnainfo gone
wish a extremely rich liberal with money to blow bought the Sun-Times Group and tried to do a smaller version of what Bazos did with the Washington Post, it's amazing that such a liberal city like Chicago doesn't have anything close to a good paper

I remember when i moved to the city in 05 the reader just seemed like the coolest thing and now its just a glorified red eye. Maybe the onion people can work something out they've got Chicago roots.

I left Chicago in 2006 - I always enjoyed the Reader and I had no idea it had gone that far downhill. That's sad :( I've only made it back once in the last 11 years but it's probably my favorite place that I've ever lived.

it seems like the reader's been on life support for a few years now.
every once in awhile it has some decent reporting, but for the most part it's like a slightly more sophisticated illinois entertainer now

Is anyone else going to the Lampo on Nov 18?

Also, probably a dumb question, but is there a good site with concert listings just for stuff like that? Like, cool electronic music concert listings in chicago?

thanks! I'm hoping it's comparable to living in northeast LA--I'm used to hourlong drives everywhere. seems like there's good food nearby at least.
