oof.

Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s schools chief “repeatedly lied” to investigators and engaged in a “full-blown cover-up” of behavior that he and the top attorney for Chicago Public Schools engaged in over the past 20 months, the CPS inspector general says in a report released Thursday.

In a blistering, 103-page document he sent Tuesday to the Chicago Board of Education, Inspector General Nicholas Schuler said he was “left with no recourse but to conclude” that the board should fire CPS CEO Forrest Claypool.

I might finally come visit Chicago to help do a light show for Earthless, Kikagaku Moyo ,and Jujjjuu at the Empty Bottle in March. The only thing that might stop me is I might have to move which would mean my studio as well so I might too broke to go out there but hopefully I can make it out .

What are the good and bad neighborhoods of Chicago? I know the south side is supposed to be bad but I'm wondering what specific neighborhoods to avoid and to look at.

South side rules you got bad info. Give us more details on budget, hobbies and where you think you'll work.

Budget is around $500-700 and will do one roommate (maybe 2 roommates but 2 is a stretch). It looks like I'd work in the Magnificent Mile area but that's not certain. I won't be having a car at least not for the first year. My hobbies include dive bars, drunken hookups and literature.

I hate the idea of "good" and "bad" neighborhoods, but if you don't know the city at all I can understand wanting to know whats what, just use this map as a guide and avoid the darkest red neighborhoods and go from there by determining what's in your price range and what has the best public transit options

I know what you mean. I lived in Bed Stuy and Bushwick and didn't have a problem with either neighborhood.

Considering your price range i'd also suggest humboldt park and if you wanna try out the south side, pilsen and bridgeport.

Went to a community meeting on police union contract reform the other night put on by CPCA (SURJ, Logan Square Neighborhood Association and a few other groups were present), learned of resolution 2017-125, calling for specific amendments to the contract that would remove some of the more egregious protections for police officers under investigation for misconduct.

I'm sure a lot of you are already up to speed on this but if not it's worth finding out if your alderperson has sponsored the resolution:
