Unweighted- keys that can't depress, can't think of a less enjoyable experience
But does sound really nice

The ones on the right are custom made and more tactile. I imagine the top one is like making music with a street fighter arcade cabinet.

Those ROLIs are pretty sick-seeming from a modulation standpoint, but I can't imagine they're super enjoyable to play. Wish someone would apply that concept to weighted keys, probably would be stupid expensive to pull off tho

I impulse bought a minibrute and I've never had such an on off relationship with a synth. One day i'll hate it and then the next i like it. I actually put it up for trade on Facebook and then played it this morning and want to keep it again.

So, when I sequence my Mother 32 on the same channel as other synths, it's always an octave higher. Anyone know how I might go about fixing that?

Been thinking about getting a dedicated MIDI controller with velocity and aftertouch. I grew up playing piano, so I prefer a keyboard that is at least semi-weighted. I'd appreciate recs if anyone has suggestions

I ordered a used Virus TI2 to be the centerpiece synth/controller in my studio and got a DCB-to-MIDI converter to finally integrate my Juno 60 this weekend. Walking on cloud nine rn
I haven't had a synth with both velocity and aftertouch since I traded my Wavestation, so I'm really looking forward to having that capability again.
Years ago a friend of mine was panning the DCB converter he had super hard, so I had written them off. I got the Roland DM-8, though and there is zero latency. I really regret not buying one sooner.

I also got to mess around with a Novation Peak for the first time yesterday and goddamn that might be the coolest synth currently in production

Just had a synthesizer Don Don'd moment when I played the Vox Concrete Wavestation preset and instantly recognized a classic Fever Ray jam

the M1 plugin rules. I have the actual M1 in the studio, but I always reach for the plugin first. It basically sounds the same (sure, the og M1 converters a slightly grittier, but it's not that big of a deal), has all the expansion cards, and I don't have to stand up and walk the 2 meters to the keyboard.

Love living in an age where having fun with old digital synths doesn't require menu diving to adjust even the most basic parameters (and a bunch of cards and cartridges to store sounds)

yeah! I'm absolutely in my cheesy digital synth phase right now. I also bought the roland boutique d-50 earlier this year, but I basically just use the plugin.
haven't touched my prophet 6 and juno 106 in months

The D-05 is great! The more rhythmic patches really cut through the mix and the pads add a really nice extra layer of depth

I feel really sorry for the roadies that had to haul three CS-80s for a fake performance. Roadie hell is probably eternally unloading CS-80s, old Moog modular units, and 100+ lb amps and carrying them down an endless hallway towards a distant soundcheck that never gets closer
