i know i know TA and everything but until today BTC was actually growing at a good pace without breaking the bollinger bands. today it's popping completely outside of the upper band so you'd expect to see it correct down heavily. but this shit is so insane who knows, it'll probably just jump to 20k instead.

Is there a way to transfer ETH within Coinbase to BTC, or does it only allow you to buy from your bank account? (which takes 5 days)
If it's really going to just keep going up maybe I'll move something over...

i don't think you can within coinbase but you can log into gdax with your coinbase account and do it there.

IOTA is really compelling. put in $100 and eager to learn more

first altcoin I've bothered with. if it pans out the way they want it to, it could be legit world-changing

the fact that microsoft, cisco, and samsung are taking it seriously is huge

it feels way too much like gambling. I feel like I can only get behind investment that actually leads to real things happening, not when it's blatant price-manipulation and obsessing over the price of the thing and not caring about the thing itself

I think it's the second order of removal. Stocks, bonds, commodities and currencies make sense to me, but I cringe at derivatives

Giving money to someone with an idea in order to bring that idea into reality seems alright.

As the bitcoin price has surged, so has the supply of a digital token called tether. Tethers are tokens backed by US dollar deposits, with each tether always worth one dollar. This allows cryptocurrency traders to cash in and out of bitcoin quickly, using tethers to transfer proceeds to other exchanges or digital wallets while avoiding the lengthy process of converting the sums in and out of fiat currency.

But the usefulness and legitimacy of tether rests on the claim by its issuer, a British Virgin Islands-based entity of the same name, that the tokens are indeed backed by dollar deposits. If the tokens aren’t fully backed by deposits, it means the bitcoin price could have been bid up by tokens that aren’t worth what they say they are. Questions about the company’s purported cash deposits are growing louder, as the bitcoin price surpassed $16,000 in intraday trading today. (It began the year at around $1,000.) The value of tethers in circulation is now more than $800 million.

The tangle certainly is a seductive idea but for goodness sake be careful.

Iota has design flaws and some of the people behind it are infuriatingly truculent.

Well i was struck by one guy politely asking questions about iota on reddit and one of the developers calling him an idiot for not understanding the tangle like he does
