I'm only up right now cuz the boy has a two-hour delay.

Which is great, cuz I was up too late watching Breaking Bad.

G'night!

i think i am going to take the plunge and pick up the new phantom stranger today

it will be interesting to see if didio can make it work as an ongoing series

listen, wah!, didio can't make it work

should be painfully clear by now that OMAC was mostly giffen

the most i'll go is that maybe didio's inability helped that book quite a bit in a weird sort of way. y'know... kirby was not exactly the most talented scripter

i mean i'd love for there to be a good phantom stranger series. i do really like the character a lot and there's a ton of potential with him. i just don't see any of it happening with didio

Look, all I'm saying is that

everyone acts like image is such a great creative place but its just abuncha guys writing comics as tv/movie pitches all hoping to have the next walking dead.

the only guy who's really cool is joe keating

isn't a v. nice thing to say.

in other news the earth 2 zero issue continues to be a fun read with good art

some awkward dialogue but didn't really detract too much

Yeah, I don't see him pop up very often, but Tomás Giorello is good.

I'd like to see him do an arc on Brian Wood's Conan.

it's a complicated thing man

on the one hand it's something that was created by some of his favorite guys (who did exactly what he's accusing everyone else of doing but w/e)

but on the other hand it's all artsy fartsy indie books

doomedhuh, see how more than one thing can be true at a time?

That's how I feel about Geoff Johns.

Slartisfgh is never mentioned in The Bible, but it is here, during one of the early battles, that Matthew spontaneously became liquid.

Ennis only did the first mini, right? Jamie Delano is doing the current one and even though I've never even cracked one open, the aforementioned covers make me want to set fire to every Avatar Press floppy we've got

Hawkeye #1's affectation is actually what I liked about it, MVT

I'm still way behind on books, finally read All-Star Western #12 today

crossed arcs are

ennis, lapham, lapham, ennis, delano, lapham

oh and spurrier i guess

i read crossed even tho i just roll my eyes the entire time. it tries way to hard to be shocking and it's probably the most juvenile(in a fuck you dad 13 year old sort of way) comic out there right now

it's a bummer to say that lapham's are hands down the worst of it. at least the ennis and spurrier ones have a semblance of content beyond gore and torture porn. delano's was in between
