I just made 3 posts in a row where all I posted was a single photo of King Abdullah II of Jordan. Who else can say that?

They should probably give the movie to someone who actually wants to make it, don't you think?

Can you believe after 24 months all they have done on the star trek sequel is just a 70 page outline?

Since it being a reboot was so important you think they'd already have the next five movies planned and plotted out

update from SDCC

Orci & Kurtzman – Star Trek sequel targeted to shoot in January 2012

While a delay is expected, Paramount has yet to make an official announcement for a new release date for the Star Trek sequel (currently scheduled for June 29, 2012). But on Saturday night at the the San Diego Comic Con Cowboys & Aliens premiere, Trek sequel co-writer/producers Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman made it clear their schedule has already moved

The original target was May or June 2011, which later became August, then September and most recently reported as November. With shooting in January of 2012 there is no way the film can be released by the summer of 2012, leaving holiday 2012 or summer 2013 as possibilities.

I would much rather them take a while to make an awesome movie than fast-track it and leave us with another sub-par Star Trek movie. I know you're both* lukewarm on 2009, but that movie is so much goddamn fun.

I dunno, I think that's better than franchise fatigue. It'll be four years between TDK and TDKR. I think it helps keep the excitement level up.

Maybe J. J. Abrams realized that he was the most morally myopic filmmaker since Frank Capra and had to rethink how to do Star Trek.

Maybe at least this will give everyone time to kinda age into their characters.

Like by the time the movie finally gets made, they'll kinda be at the same point in time that the TOS cast was in S1 or something.

Then again, maybe by the time it's made, they all look like they did in Star Trek V.

The TNG cast aged so terribly compared to the TOS cast

The TOS cast looked pretty good in IV but suddenly all beat in V, but they managed to bounce back for VI by embracing the fact that they were all near retirement. Plus Shatner later grew into his jolly old fat man persona and Takei and Nichols still look really good for their ages

Everyone in TNG besides Patrick Stewart looks like they got dragged through a deep fryer since Nemesis. I think the last time I saw Jonathan Frakes was in the Enterprise finale and he had a puffy, baggy face and looked like he wanted someone to shoot him
