Luck (2011) - HBO, Mann, Milch, Hoffman, Nolte

Jesus christ you have to be kidding me.

Treme is definitely better than Boardwalk Empire, as far as current HBO failures go.

i am biased for bored to death's setting, but yeah, the premise could do for some fantastic storytelling but it doesn't go that far.

I'd compare Bored to Death to Crystal Ice Lemonade mix. You can drink it and you probably won't dislike it, but you also probably won't feel satisfied afterwards.

I really love Treme and Boardwalk Empire. Don't understand any of the hate, but that could be due to the lack of any criticism and simply "it's horrible."

I also just watched all of the episodes of Hung over like a week and I have to admit that I don't understand how it's THAT bad.

Enlighten me, please.

Why is Thomas Jane all like "HHHHHHMMMMMFFFFFFF Could you please UUUUUUHHHHGGGGGG hand me that glass of water hhhhhhggggghhhhhhh thanks." Though? He doesn't talk like that in everything else.

I think Hung is a good show conceptually but fails in execution most of the time. A show about a guy who can't make ends meet in a depressed city during a terrible recession whoring himself out as a result is something most people can relate to, if nothing else.

Also I sat in the same theater as Tom Jane to see "Drive" last week and I have to say that he does not look like a down on his luck father of two (hideous) adolescent children.

the hung promo for the new season makes it look like softcore porn for women/gays, but then i've never seen the show

they'll probably throw it on demand or re-air it like everything else, huh?

I won't be home until midnight and I didn't set it to tape.

They're making it sound like this is a one-time deal until the actual premiere in January

I'm sure it will be all over the Internet though

Loved pretty much everything about it, despite feeling like I missed half of what was going on. The track footage was incredible. Pretty glad this exists.

Yeah, definitely

And the teaser at the end did look pretty inviting. Except Nick Nolte's bits.

yeah this was fucking awesome, slick as fuck. i was wondering if and how fast things were going to get all criminal, but the preview cleared that up pretty thoroughly

i raised my eyebrows a little at all the michael mann musical moments that made every little scene pregnant with epic implications; i could see that becoming sort of wearisome and meme-y over the course of twelve episodes, but whatever

I liked the Pick Six crew a lot, and knowing how good Milch is with supporting characters makes them all the more promising
