Site is an unorganized mess compared to Oink.

That notice right afterwards that they were also looking into going after its users freaked me out so badly for a couple of moments.

It was a great site, but I never replaced it... nowadays I just get what I want through blogs and this forum. The actual downloading isn't even illegal in this country yet, so that's another reason to stick to YSI's.

I don't remember Oink being really well organized, but then again I never had problems finding what I needed.

Wouldn't that be a reason to not stick to ysi's? You can't even be tracked for downloading them, so why rely on useless rapidshare links instead of torrents when it's not even illegal to download?

same here. not really because I was afraid, but because of the rise of direct downloads.

losing oink was super shitty though. haven't really been in the torrent game since.

I don't understand why What.CD isn't as good as Oink. I think it's better, other than not having the Christmas free leech.

I don't have much problems finding what I want with those sort of sites... Megaupload, Mediafire... Rapidshare's been annoying lately, but I just save those links for my timezone morning, when it's still night in the US, and Rapidshare works like a charm.

What I meant was that sites like Waffles and What are all about ratios, so you'll always be uploading data as well... which is already illegal. Right now I'm just coasting on the hope that it's just the film and music business that's going after torrenters, because I'd be mortified if Empornium followed me home. Good grief. That's been getting more and more obsolete... streaming video rock 'n roll.

Same here. And the notice was from like "the Cleveland Police Department" so I thought somehow the US got involved. Who knew there was a Cleveland UK.

No way. Everytime some uploads a new rip, I have to sort through the entire listing to find a link to d/l. The artist pages are great, but the front page is an eyesore.

also while what has its own private torrent eccentricities, they are less annoying than oink's were (i.e. cute avatars)

loved the site. it's a shame though that sometime toward the end i realized it was superficial to maintain a high ratio and i should just download whatever.
