people who complain about pack searchers are just as bad as the pack searchers themselves.

I hate threads that pop up on Blowout or elsewhere that's like "SUPER BIG MOJO HIT FROM ONE RETAIL PACK!" and then the entire thread is just people calling the dude a pack searcher and complaining.

nah, i've said something to a few dudes that i've caught pack searching before. my thinking is, you already know the risk you run by purchasing packs that have been out in the open, free to be touched and searched by anyone. i really think my general hate of everyone on BO angers me more though.

What I love the most are the superfractors that get busted in retail and people are like, "REALLY TOPPS? RETAIL?!" As if Topps owed them anything.
The amount of contempt collectors have to for Topps is great.

i will admit that i look on the semi-translucent rack packs of bowman for the backs of harper cards. never worked.
also, the blaster boxes are the only retail that don't list odds for auto or GU. the other retail stuff (rack packs, single loose packs, the 10 dollar box) do, and from what I have read that is true for 2012 Topps. I will check later tonight or tomorrow depending on if my store gets them. Hobby has better odds of course, but Topps baseball is still not really for sick mojo hits, though they are out there. This year's list of autos is pretty good actually, decent balance of all stars and scrubs, in addition to the legends they have.
As far as Hobby goes, I'd recommend getting the Jumbo hobby packs if you do find a shop. They run about 10-13 bucks, but you get a ton of cards and have a better shot at an autograph or a really cool parallel. A couple packs is a little more than a blaster usually, but you'll probably be happier with the results.

Just browsed eBay again to try complete the auto set I started where I tried getting everyone on my fantasy team. Bad idea. My QB & WR were Eli Manning & Victor Cruz. I had the opportunity to pick up Cruz autos for about $20 in mid season (standard elling price) but now all of them are $80 minimum and will probably go higher if he scores on Sunday. Oh well.

I'd buy hobby every time if I could. Unfortunately baseball cards are essentially the definition of a frivolous expense for me right now so it's hard to justify (or conceal from my gf) going to a shop and spending more than $15 on cards at one time. I also have a bad habit of busting the packs as soon as I get back to my car and then just leaving them in some nook in the car. Last time I went through my car cards I found a dented up Bowman World Baseball classic Yu Darvish purple refractor. :/
The last box I bought was about a year and a half ago, I think 07 or 08 Bowmans Best with three guaranteed autos per box (which was only like 5 packs or so). Got the Joba rookie auto that would have been worth bank but is garbage now, an Adrian Gonzalez auto, which is awesome but not valuable, and an Andrew Miller rookie auto, which was never worth anything.

Right, here's my tradelist of football & UFC. I'm open to pretty much any autographs from any football team. I'd only be into numbered GU for Bucs or Giants players or someone pretty well known, same goes for base cards or parallels of them. I also have a massive pile of wrestling autos for trade but I'm not gonna list them as I assume no one here would be into them. Can get you pictures of anything too.

I think someone pulled the Joba way after he had already crashed and burned too. Also the Harper from Bowman Chrome 2011 is still out in the wilderness (or some little kid found it).

I think the greatest tragedy would be opening an 01 Bowman Chrome pack and getting the expired Pujols redemption auto. There's still gotta be a few of those out there right?

There's some sealed boxes of 01 BC on ebay for ~$500. If the auto is redemption I imagine you could still do well with high-graded base or base parallel rookies.

Man people are making a mint on these Skip Rally Squirrel short prints. Looks like 25 have already been sold and another 25 are up for sale right now, so in less than a week 50 or so have been found and gone up on ebay, which leads me to believe I'll be able to get one for a reasonable price in a couple months when more are found right? I mean, it's a short print, but it's not like they only made a couple hundred (btw, a 1of1 Skip Schumaker card probably wouldn't sell for a quarter of what these are bringing). I could buy that Jeter/W/Mantle short print for $5 right now if I wanted, and I remember that being much bigger hype than this card.

Yeah I would definitely wait for the hype to wane away. The squirrel card got a lotta publicity. Seems like 2012 S1 doesn't have any good hits so it's a pretty junk-y product.

I have some, not a ton, maybe 10 or so packs worth. I pulled a RC auto from one, some Rams receiver... Austin Pettis.

And he's also pulled 5 of the squirrel cards (all sold for $250 each) and he has pulled NONE of the Pujols SSP cards. In 60 freaking cases. There's a bunch more pictures here:

there's one dude on blowout that pulled a pujols, and there's only one on ebay currently. it seems like the rarest thing in this set other than those gold 1/1's... a lot more of the Reyes cards have been pulled.
can't wait to hit the shop tonight!

I bought four packs today (my local shop is way too expensive with the Jumbo packs, $17!!!!!!), so I'm either gonna rely on the Internet or a random trip to Target to work on Series 1. This set is kinda shitty anyway, so I'm not gonna sweat it. Didn't get much aside from a Mariano Rivera mini and two codes for their new giveaway site that isn't even up yet. Also hit the Brett Pill rookie
