Shut it down, Marvel: https://variety.com/2017/tv/news/abc-idol-inhuman-1202573827/

“Inhumans” has not been the only source of friction between ABC and Marvel. Earlier this year, the mandate came down from Disney for ABC to renew its other Marvel drama, “Agents of SHIELD,” despite the desire by some at the network to end the series after four seasons. Having aired on Tuesdays since its inception, “SHIELD” is shifting to Friday nights this season when “Inhumans” finishes its initial eight-episode run.

http://uproxx.com/sepinwall/marvel-inhumans-review-fast-cheap-terrible/

At that TCA panel, Loeb repeatedly scolded critics who took issue with one aspect of the show or another, insisting we were being unfair in judging an unfinished product. Amazingly, the version that will air on Friday night is worse than what the TCA got to see in the summer. With each passing minute, Inhumans feels slower, dumber, and emptier. Even the one thing the show does well at first — the CGI version of Lockjaw, so enthusiastic and helpful — gets screwed up before long. The show has no reason to exist except that Marvel wanted it to, by any means necessary.

And so it does.

Doing Agents of SHIELD numbers!

Marvel’s Inhumans made its small-screen debut on Friday night to 3.8 million total viewers and a 0.9 demo rating, shy of what ABC’s Last Man Standing/Dr. Ken sitcombo (5.4 mil/1.0) and Shark Tank (5.1 mil/1.2) averaged last season in the two-hour block.

That said, Inhumans (which TVLine readers gave a grade of “C-“) tied CBS’ MacGyver/Hawaii Five-0 average from 8 to 10 pm.

Also, though it’s nectarines and oranges, Inhumans did outperform both Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s May finale (2.1 mil/0.7) and Season 4 average (2.3 mil/0.7), as well as edged out Agent Carter‘s sophomore average (2.7 mil/0.8).

Marvel's bad at this!

I finished watching Luke Cage last night. It definitely was less compelling after that thing happened, especially since the new character had a tonal shift that didn’t help the series, but I still enjoyed it overall / will watch a second season.

Shades was the Wesley of this series.

I watched five minutes of Iron Fist and turned it off. I may continue if I’m desperate.

I still think it's pretty lame that everyone's calling Hela the MCU's first female villain. Nebula/Karen Gillan gets no respect. She's one of the best, most fun, most complex villains in these damn movies.

I found Nebula kind of flat, at least in the first one. Haven't seen Ragnarok yet. Nebula wasn't the big bad though so maybe that's what they're saying?

Release date isn't until Nov. 2, so I'm guessing it'll be another couple of weeks before we hear anything.

So from what I just read this is supposed to be Stephen King's Breakfast Club set in the New Mutant's universe with what appears to be all the X-Men characters written out of it and an April release. I'm sure this film will do fine.

X2 was the last good Fox movie, and it hasn't aged well.

Fucking yikes on that trailer. I was looking forward to the general concept of that movie but I'm pretty wary of a FF level boondoggle now.

So those kids really are supposed to be Illyana, Rahne, Sam, Roberto, and Dani.

Can't Marvel like...sue for malpractice at some point?
