americans wouldn't be able to believe that a guy with an english accent could struggle with the nuances of glass-steagall

he sounds so proper he has to be smart, right?

Why the fuck are they even talking about Glass-Steagall?

As stated previously, it's best not to watch this show and just read the thread.

As silly as having Mortimer not know what Glass-Stegal was, I really like the comparison between repealing G-S and cheating on the perfect boyfriend with the ex that fucked you over.

sorkin firing all his writing staff

Most of the writers on the cable drama about a Keith Olbermann-type television news demagogue have been fired, sources with knowledge of the show told The Daily. "They're not coming back, except for Sorkin's ex-girlfriend [Corinne Kinsbury]," one source said. [Sorkin is currently dating "Sex and the City" actress Kristin Davis.]

this whole thing seems like its gonna implode in a few months. the characters are going to come out of the tv screen and present the news on HBO at 6:30 every night for reals.

I visited my buddy at the Foxnews Newscorp building and I had to give them my license and get a visitors pass and he had to be there too, so it is a pretty valid point.

There are also a bunch of fake twitter accounts for characters on the show that are pretty hilarious.

to me this was the first episode that showed it could, maybe, figure out how to be a good show
had some decent extension beyond liberal politics and reporting the news the right way
its not like it was great, but it was closer

this was definitely the best episode yet. munn v waterston was good, the conversation with the black guy was pretty brutal, and there was minimal romance shenanigans.
