oxidation doesn’t specifically involve oxygen in any way, it’s a process that happens to be named after oxygen because it was initially observed with oxygen (and oxygen is a common oxidizing agent)

The way I see it, he is just observing what he can see in front of him before passing out. It's also perhaps a reference to how insignificant he is in the grand scheme of things.

I think maybe what don donned me really there was that the song's about a sad astronaut who's lost contact with the people of a sad Earth.

A "goatee" is named as such because it resembles the hair on the chin of a goat.

both puppet and pupil (in the sense of a student) ultimately derive from the latin pupus/pupa, which literally mean boy/girl. pupillus and pupilla are the diminutive forms.

the center of the eye being called the pupil refers to the tiny image of yourself you see reflected in it.

in greek, they use kore, which literally means girl, to mean both a doll and the center of the eye.

in the 16th century, they used baby to refer to the tiny image reflected in the pupil, and to "look babies" meant to stare into someone's eyes lovingly.

what a world.
